Sony BDP-S190

Hello, first time here. Look forward to cooperate. Just bought a sony blu ray player model BDP-S190. However, some mkv files can be played but some mkv files showed corrupted or unsupported file type. I wonder why it can play some mkv files while some other mkv files showed unsupported or file is corrupted.

Use mediainfo tool to analyze the files that are not playable. mkv is a av container and the codecs used may be different. Also the mkv format profile is important. Higher profiles won't play in many of the players. Use mkvtoolnix v3.0 to remux the file and try again.

Will try that and hope it works. Thanks. I'm a newbie in this area, so need to guidelines. How to know is on higher profile?...

Just tried and it doesnt work out. Still showing the same message, unsupported file type or file has been corrupted.:sad:

Try TSMUXER GUI 1.10.6 and change the profile to 4.1 or lower and then try to play ....sometimes there is a profile mismatch which gives this error message......

I downloaded and install TSMUXER GUI 1.10.6. I add file but I dont see how or where to change to lower the profile. Sorry for being noob because I'm new to this field..

After I change the profile level, the output format should be blu ray disk or other formats? WHen I try to open, I only have the audio, no image or pictures...

s190 - it doesn't have display, looks sporty than classy, technically as same as s380. both are wifi ready. And as crossbow says s380 can also play mkv,mp4,

then

s190 is not better but inferior than s380.

Yes, it's wifi ready. You will need to have sony WiFi Dongle to connect to internet.

Spec wise both are same. Flipkart listing mentions that it has 3D support too. And Sony Product details Page shows 3D under the same. But does not have any info on the page.

S380, due to it's price should be a better buy.
But S190 is newer model and there are chances that sony incorporated some new hardware in it. But from the build quality, it's not better then S380.

Confirm with 3D playback, and if it supports and if you want to watch 3D BDs and if you have 3D TV, go for it. At least we can depend upon Sony brand name. And These 2 would be the most VFM and spec-rich BD players available in Indian market.
