I didn't have time/patience of going through full thread as net was too slow. So just went through first 3 pages and the last page. Amazed to read that a speaker of that cost cannot satisfy everyone. One statement I didn't agree with. ' X speaker is good mainly for vocals', Y for bass etc. A good speaker should be good for all genres. If I spend upwards of 1 lac for a speaker and then if its good only for particular kind of music then, I am sorry but I cannot call it a good speaker. A good speaker should faithfuly reproduce whatever is thrown at it. It cannot be selective.Having said that I feel at any speaker that really goes down to 40hz is more than enough for enjoying music. Very few instruments go below that (I know only organ and kick drum although there may be few more.).
There is no perfection in life just as there exists no one thing that can do everything. We just have to live with the choices we make. All the better to make the best informed decision so we know exactly what we are getting and know the limitations of what we are going to live with.
Of course there exists perfection that's beyond the reach of most mortals. The Magico Q7 comes to my mind. I would love to own it but cannot as of now. Hopefully, one day but till then I live with what I have now.
And no I don't believe anyone has the perfect speaker that can do everything. Maybe for the kind of music they listen to but not for the kind of music I or you would listen to.
Well maybe bhagwan = shanti on this forum but even there I would not be 100% sure. If it did then he should be happy with it for the rest of his life... so lets see.
Its better one knows what one wants and goes about getting it... the illusion of a perfect speaker that does it all and at the OP's budget is a dream not worth pursuing.
