Right now I am listening to ...

Thanks for the prompt response, Moser.
Will try out the mp3 s/w you mentiond.
If you come across a similar s/w for cdda tracks do let me know plz

Kamalji, for your requirements do try 'Audacity' this is also a open source software, free to every one and legal too. This is far more superior to any small utilities floating around the web. This Audacity will not only allows you to the task you mentioned but there are tons of other features that you might be interested. This is full Audio editing software and can be used to rip cassettes / LP into any format of choice. Just try it.

There is one more professional grade software (indeed it is being used by mnay recording studios and proefessional) , 'Diamond Cut', a licensed copy cost USD 50 but it is worth it (I am using it since four years)

Hope this helps.

All my CCR collection. True American geniuses...

My favourite song is "I see a bad moon rising"
One of the few songs that I could play on my guitar back in early 90s:)

Wow, I'm impressed. My sister and brother both play the guitar very well. I tried to learn it but found it quite hard (or requiring lots of practice and hard work) and gave it up.

I checked with a friend and his recommendation was for CUE Splitter available at Medieval Software - Medieval CUE Splitter. It's free and works great with all formats. Give it a try, might be perfect for your needs.

Thanks a lot Suhasji.
As a matter of fact, I was about to PM Moser since the s/w he mentioned was no longer available for d/l- I followed several links after googling it but no go.
I'll give Audacity a shot-I presume they have a step by step guide on how to use it for what I have in mind.

Which one is not available? MannsMp3Edit or CUE Splitter?

Hi Kamal, check out on Adobe Audition, google for trial version.
You can record, mix, edit, create mp3's and master digital audio files with powerful tools, easily create music and restore imperfect recordings. I have been using it for a long time.

Qn for the experts-
I have the 5 CD set of Ameen Sayani's Geet Mala Ki Chhaon Mein.
The CDs are recorded as a single track, hence one can't skip between songs.
You can't keep listening to the commentary(mellifluous as it is)again & again.
One wants to be able to listen to just the songs, rip them to your Mp3 player for enjoying them while on a walk etc.
Is there some way of creating CD R's with just the songs extrcted from the original CDs?
Would appreciate some help on this.

Rush

Chronicles, my favourite, just got the cd I had cassettes.

I had all the albums in mp3. lost it.

"Distant early warning" is my all time favourite

Has anyone heard any of the solo works of John Fogerty the frontman of the defunct group Creedence Clearwater Revival? If so any views/reviews/thoughts appreciated. If it's any help I have all CCR albums and love them a lot.

I have his album "Revival". It's OK. Maybe a little different to the earlier CCR stuff. Maybe you should collect them all.

My favourite is Dire Straits. I have all their albums + all albums of Mark Knopfler the lead singer/ guitarist from the band. About 30 albums all together including bootlegs. The I have most of their/ his concerts on DVD too:)

Hi Moserw,

I have most of his solo albums .If you like CCR then you will like these.

My favourites are

Blue Moon Swamp

Centerfield

The Blue Ridge Rangers.

Rajiv
