Got my 50VT20 yesterday from Panasonic brand shop, bangalore.. picked it up for 70 K along with one 3D glass and wireless keyboard. It was the last piece. I come across croma having few pieces. The offer was 75 k with one glass and logitech keyboard.

unfortunately the nearest croma is in hyderabad and u said they were not willing to ship it out.
but i am sure any other local dealer can be cajoled into selling atleast for 80K if not 75k.

He said he can pick it up from nidadavole.

this is about the vt20 series. not st30 which is 2011model
I have also got the same price with Croma, JP Nagar of 75k. I am going to talk with their buyers (had got the price from their senior manager who was claiming they bought the TV for 77k and were selling for less than the cost price right now). I am doing my best to get the price of atleast 70k within the next 2 days.
Please let me know the Panasonic Brand shop from where you got the offer of 70k so I could refer them to Croma to hopefully get better pricing. I can even visit that shop if needed to get even better pricing if at all they can arrange stocks.
If at all someone wishes to get the TV for 75k, Croma, JP Nagar has about 10 pieces in stock and can make immediate delivery. They are even willing to ship anywhere across India (atleast the location they have stores).
I request you to PLEASE coordinate with me if you are interested in this offer from Croma if you are in hurry and worry about stocks getting depleted soon so I could build a relationship with them for bringing them the customers and can expect them to give better pricing atleast for other models if not this one.

I'm interested in this offer, though sadly the Calcutta market is very far behind and dealers quoted me 1.27 L to 1.85L ! (including the Pana brand shops)
Does anyone in Delhi, Mumbai or Hyd know a dealer who can ship the VT20 to Calcutta via BlueDart or similar services? We dont have a Croma here.I hope someone here can help me out, I would be extremely grateful !

After extensive negotiations and discussing with Panasonic Territory Manager, Croma JP Nagar has given the best price of 74k only for today for 10 pieces. We will get 2x 3D glasses and Logitech Keyboard free with it. They at telling they are open till 9:30PM for immediate purchase and delivery by tomorrow. Let me know if there are any takers, urgently so I could arrange for the same.
Overall I still feel 51D550 is a winner as it supports USB devices and formats extensively, arguably better looks and remote. 3D glasses are least expensive and work on Bluetooth when Panasonic Glasses are very expensive when I see Samsung 3050 glasses coming for less than $50 for a pair with 120hrs of Battery backup.
I will check with Croma folks here if they can deliver.
They don't have 51D550, had 43D450 and 50C6500. Overall VT20 has much better black levels, however at the same time Gamma seemed to have been crushing darker images. One major difference I observed was in terms of dithering noise, 50C6500 had a lot filling about 20 to 30% of the screen. Also I saw blocky images (across text, etc) on Samsung while Panasonic seemed to have been filtering those MPEG blocks effectively.

How much was the C6500 quote? Thats a very good set. Has a far better AR than the D550. It is a 2D only model. I guess it should be going for 50k since V20 is like 60k. It is a good deal for 50-55k. Any rates?
Are you comparing D550 to C6500 or VT20?
You forgot to take into account the arguiably best AR filter, least reflections, better motion and THX mode which is fine-tunable.
All the above like USB formats, 3D glasses etc can be got cheap from 3rd parties sooner or later. But you can't get the blacks and better motion can you??
hyeah:BTW, 74k for 10 pieces is not a good rate. You can get single piece easily in all cromas for 75k with TATA sky HD+ and keyboard.
Check with CROMA. They have all inda offer of 80k first price ad 75k if negotiated.
If not 75k, you will surely get 80k offer.

Din't hypercity have D550 on display?
My only complain for D550 in its price is reflection.
VT20 is ofcourse worth atleast 90k-1L and has no shortcomming at the price of 75k
