details of the purchase -- on reaching the croma store, one of the salesperson, with whom i was in contact, offered me that i pay 79.9k, and i would get a toshiba 24" FHD LCD TV 'free' with it. i declined. then he suggested that since i already own a tata sky connection (of which i had told him), he suggested better to upgrade it to HD or tata sky+ HD, and dont take it with the TV. upgradation would prove cheaper, and here i could also give you the TV for 73k instead of the 75k decided earlier. i agreed. also, 5% cashback on ICICI bank debit/credit card purchase, with a maximum discount of 1k for a purchase of more than 15k. so effectively i got the TV for ~72k (not counting tata sky upgradation charges that i'll manage on my own).

delivery date -- i politely but firmly had told him that i need the TV tomorrow itself, to which he readily agreed. i dont want to get it wall-mounted, but still i asked for the installation guy/team to be sent at home. i just want THEM to open the box and set it up (so that if, God forbid, i find something out-of-place in the package, they wont get a chance to blame ME that since i opened up the box i must be at fault.) also, i would like to check the condition of the package and the usage hours of the TV in front of the store-guy
although i had made it amply (and bluntly, albeit with a mellowed down tone) clear that i know some [small-time
] dealers use to send display units/refurbished units, hence i want to be sure from my side, and i want a completely sealed pack, to which he just smiled and replied that "sir trust on croma", and then took me to his computer and showed the current stock of the VT20Ds of croma for the maharashtra region, and the code no. of the unit that i would be sent. that kind of instilled some confidence in me. the store-guys with whom i was in contact were very polite and seem helpful up till now.
now i will be going through the wealth of info here on this forum regarding initial procedures like breaking-in, etc.......but later on. am an early bird, but since last 2 days i have been desperately banging my head all over the forum and on the net to decide for the TV. slept very late and woke up quite early consecutively for 2 days. now cold and slight fever has gripped me and body seems to be in a 'purification and revitalising' mode, so i will let it handle the job, and retire peacefully, (and early) tonight to the bed, ofcourse, in anticipation of the day that lies ahead
please provide some suggestions on what should i immediately do after receiving the set, and before initiating the magic hyeah:
