50VT20 offers accross India (Hyderabad - 80k)

in between vt20d and st30d which is better in terms of picture?I am in hurry to pick one before delhi f1.:yahoo:

i think blasto was the one who had seen both tvs.

i am not very sure but i think PQ was SLIGHTLY BETTER IN VT20D. it has thx which is absent in st30d.

st30 is this years model with 2d to 3d conversion, which is absent in vt20d.

i was originally in group-buy for st30d at 80k, it was quoted for 94k, without group-buy in bangalore. but as there was no progress in that i bought the vt20d

How much was the C6500 quote? Thats a very good set. Has a far better AR than the D550. It is a 2D only model. I guess it should be going for 50k since V20 is like 60k. It is a good deal for 50-55k. Any rates?

Are you comparing D550 to C6500 or VT20?
You forgot to take into account the arguiably best AR filter, least reflections, better motion and THX mode which is fine-tunable.
All the above like USB formats, 3D glasses etc can be got cheap from 3rd parties sooner or later. But you can't get the blacks and better motion can you?? :ohyeah:

BTW, 74k for 10 pieces is not a good rate. You can get single piece easily in all cromas for 75k with TATA sky HD+ and keyboard.
Colors seems worse both in 2D and 3D mode on VT20 if we trust the review on hdtvtest. Also, it lacks 10 point calibration option which can easily be unlocked in 51D550. And 51D550 might handle motion better without trailing edges as highlighted in hdtvtest. So even when D550 has less black levels and motion resolution, it seems to be a better buy at that price point of around 62k.

yes at PBS, Banashankari

Dude I PM'd you 2 days back to send a scanned copy of bill so I could negotiate with Croma JP Nagar Store Manager. Still waiting. Would really appreciate your time on this.

Update-
Got myself a Vt20d for 68k in delhi.
Freebies include
1. A pair of 3d glass
2. Tata Sky HD pvr
3. Shrek 3d collection pack
4. 6pcs glass set.
5. Scratch card - Panasonic
6. Wireless Keyboard
Waiting for delivery :clapping:
Guys, will the croma guys directly register a call for installation or will we have to do that ?
Buddy, thanks a TON for the update. Can you please check (urgently) if you got the delivery that it was a sealed piece and you got 2x 3D glasses? Is it possible to send a scanned copy of the bill so we could ask Croma Bangalore to offer the same price? Here they are claiming that its "not at all possible" to get such prices.

Hey prankey.. Its not 2*3D glasses. It is only one.
Panasonic people have the habit of calling a single piece as "a pair of" glasses.

But the offer which I have negotiated is with 2x 3D glasses! So in that case 74.5k (as they have agreed for today) could be a good offer.

Can we PLEASE confirm urgently as the Panasonic offer is officially till today only.

Guys there seems to be a lot of confusion over addressing the glasses.

In English, you refer to one set of glasses as a "pair of glasses". Hundreds of years ago when people started using glasses, they used ONE glass only. Overtime with the mainstream use of glasses for vision correctional purposes, 2 glasses in one frame became common and were hence referred to as a "pair of glasses".

interestingly they also use 'a pair of trousers' to refer to a single piece.
Does this also have a historic background dating back to hundreds of years ago !!!

"pair" simply carries the sense of something made of two joined or corresponding parts, both of which are needed for the thing to function.

Now lets get back to the thread. Shall we. ;)

Guys, lets not mix literature with the actual offer here! I had very specifically checked on the offer that one piece will come with the TV and another extra will be given free! Unless the store manager changes his mind or wasn't sure of the offer, that is what it stands at. If its just one glass, 51D550 seems to be a clear winner in terms of price to performance ratio except for the AR filter on the VT20 and THX mode (nevertheless D550 without THX mode seems to give better colors if we trust hdtvtest results).

boss,
I am in huury to pick either one of these from your dealer.in kakinda the dalers are exobirant rates.does your dealer has ready stocks?please send me a message i will come to nidadavole.my number is 9866320053.
have told my dealer to haggle for reduction of price for 50vt20d (i paid 80K)showing the offers ranging from 70 to 75 at various places.
just got a call from him. this tv is now offered for 77K with the same deal-1 wireless KB, one extra 3d glasses, scratch card and 3year warranty. if u want it can be sent directly to ur address instead of u having to come here to pick it up. installation is free by panasonic. actually u need them only if u want to have it wallmounted. if u can come here and pay the amount or send the amount with someone before 5pm. your tv will be shipped direct to ur address tomorrow from vijayawada and u will have it before the weekend.
sir,
read your message.i will deposit cash in dealers bank a/c then he can ship it direct to kakinada.please give me dealers number and please tell him about your recomondation.thanks a lot for spending your valuable time for me.
shop is closed for diwali now. will send u the details tomorrow morning . please send me ur full address for dispatching the tv. if u pay the money tomorrow morning itself i think the tv will be dispatched tomorrow and u should get it on friday or saturday.

also let me know if u want installation by panasonic, as the dealer has to inform them to attend to the installation. it is free ofcourse, but this is india and bakshees is usual.

no need for thanks! i myself benefitted from many of the forums' members' inputs before buying the tv.

i never knew this kind of discounting was available. i simply gave up thinking about the 50inchers after seeing the above 100k price tags. its only because of the forum i found out about the deals and was able to buy the tv at 80k! and now u r getting it for 77k!

so if anything u should thank the forum and all the other members!

and since u saved 3k from my price, i think it would be nice if u donated atleast half of it to the forum.:D:D:D

I enquired with Onkyo Barton center, in person yesterday, and they are willing to give 50V20, box piece for 68K. Hence for 10 or more pieces, further negotiation may be possible.

Cheers,

68k for 50v20 is a good price, but not the least it has been offered at.

Ya, he said 50v20. any how prospective buyers may cross check with the said show room. cheers

one pair of glass means one glass. one pair of trousers, one pair of socks etc are all used in english grammer. I used to go to cat classes where they had taught us this.

So 2 pairs of glasses means 2 glasses :)

Actually one pair comes inside the plasma box by default so sometimes its not counted separately... and when you say one pair of glasses with the offer it could be perceived as an additional set.

Did you check the thread I have started? I have got the best price of 64k for a sealed pack 50V20 from Panasonic Branded shop.
