I have a BSNL ADSL connection (4mbps for 1350INR rental) which started all good but has gone to dogs lately. After about a year they imposed FUP in Nov 2012 with 35GB limit (call center rants 20GB FUP). It was still meeting my needs so I retained it! Now since about a month there is frequent disconnection - at least once a day. Sometimes it lasts for several hours. Last night I had to travel 20+ kms to office since I could not VPN for more than an hour. I have decided to get rid of BSNL. More so, since there is little point raising service tickets. They close the ticket without solving the problem. I have raised more than dozen tickets in last month but all in vain. I would not go back to Airtel since they resort to a lot of cheap cheating.
What are my options?
1. I notice a deluge of ACT pamphlets on my street so I'm certain that it is available in my area. Question is whether their connection in reliable since I do not want to be in position where I have to drive to office again.
2. I like no-FUP of reliance although not such a fan of that brand. Is reliance connection reliable?
3. Are there other better providers?
Pls suggest and share your experiences!
I am kinda sick and tired dealing with BSNL, their jokers and their lousie attitude towards customer complaints and problems. My connection is a 4MBPS one and the best I have seen is close to 650kbps. The people out there in the exchange have no clue what needs to be done and darn those retards don't even have the patience to hear you out.
All they do is come home, use their portal speedtest linky run a check and then call the exchange and say "will take two days for us to check and get back". After 3 months of follow up I have decided to call it quits with BSNL.
Airtel again sucks, AIRCEL is a joke and ACT is what I am left with. No clue if they provide connections where I live. Going by this thread looks like they have been providing exemplary service.
I wanted to get ACT but they could not run a line to my building in central Bangalore! So I ended getting Airtel 8 mbbs plan at Rs.2,400! I think this is really expensive but not sure as I have not compared it against other plans. I mainly download music (legally) and browse the internet. Would love some advice.
Thanks Gobble! Just saved Rs.1,000 pm. Went onto their Transonic Plan 8 mbbs/60GB/1000 mins for 1,250!!
