Few questions(read most of the posts ):
1) When I make changes to ebay account the ebay guys call me to verify the changes made,so, how this works out when I provide aramex address?
2)suppose I win 2 items from same seller of ebay then can I ask ebay seller or aramex to combine the packets?
3)can I request aramex to mark items as gift?
4)do I need to mark item as received(as i do with ebay India)?
BTW: IND code is working but one has to check radio button after applying coupon(so that fee is 35-30=5 $)

for 2, yes you can and should be doing immediately after purchase before seller ships, some seller ships on the same day if the item is in the stock.

for 3, i guess you cannot

for 4, I do not htink this is required with aramex

1. Since you just need to add one more shipping address, the aramex address, and put that as Primary shipping address, ebay won't call for that. Ebay may call only on changing Registered add.

3. You may try, contact them. 2 things, it has to be less than Rs10k in value.. secondly, its possible that custom officials may again evaluate cost and disregard the gift option. Do not rely too much on this, however, no harm in trying.

4. 'Item receipt confirmation' is a part of Paisa Pay payment process, since ebay.com don't use Paisa Pay so no item receipt confirmation.

Sorry this might be offtopic...but I have won an item in ebay.com(using aramex address) and was trying to make payment using paypal and I was getting the below error:

We are not able to process your payment using your Paypal account at this time. Please return to the recipients website to complete your transaction using their regular checkout flow

My paypal has been linked to my cc(it has sufficient funds) and it is verified as well...anybody knows what could be the issue?

^are you using virtual card?
If you have multiple cards you need to select card with requisite balance.
also ensure that when you add your card with paypal you provide your Indian billing address in same format (see address from net banking).
Paypal address should not be of Aramex but your Indian bank billing address.

question is : are shippers like ICC, aramex etc observing this or are they still charging for customs duty as well?

and how are people's expereince with shopyourworld? are they reliable?

Shopyourworld does observe the customs exemption if the sender's address is outside India.Feedback regarding their service would be neutral with wide variations in their delivery times.Sometimes,so quick that you are pleasantly surprised and at other times they are painfully slow to process the order.Also,their order tracking on the website is generally erroneous.But,they have a pleasant CC department(online chat is better as their phone number is generally busy) and they examine the product in Mumbai and inform you if it looks damaged during transit - they give you the option of re-ordering or refund.I had ordered liquidy- type things which were leaking(they don't open the Amazon packing).

Bonafide gifts are exempt upto 10,000 INR.
When you make purchase through Amazon or ebay you can not claim it as gift(as it is not infact).
But approx.30% duty +minimum Rs.500 charges are killing most of the deals.
Example: 4000 worth of electronic item will cost Rs.5850(approx.) via shopnship.

Duty is not flat 30% for all products. It depends on item type.
Secondly, duty is not calculated directly on cost price, but..
Total Value for calculation of duty = Cost Price incl local shipping(C) + 22%C +1%C
Now calculate duty percent on this amount.

Now the catch here is.. customs may not always honor the cost price of your product, and may recalculate it again using their own knowledge

I am planning to buy Asus eee pad Transformer from US but confused if i should use Borderlinx or Aramex?

Borderlinx strangely shows '0' duty (although tax component exist) for 'Computers - Desktops and laptops' category, is this correct? I have heard duty on laptops is 15%?
Also, can an Android tablet be classified under 'Computers - Desktops and laptops'? Classifying in any other sub-categories of Computers or Electronics increases price as duty is charged.

Yeah, its the same with laptops also i think. So it should be correct to classify a tablet under Laptops.. but then why Borderlinx is giving duty as zero?

there must be problem with classification under Borderlinx.
15% duty on tablet is mentioned also on FB page of Shopnship.

wait a while .. it will be visible in "my packages" section when you log in very soon , after some time they will give you shipping amount to be paid on the same page . Then if you pay ..goods will keep moving to india .

Nope not required. If you pay its ok, if not, it will be collected upon delivery.

My package is now visible in my account but the description is given as Iphone ...actually it is motorola atrix 4g...Is it normal that they mark every mobile phone as Iphone...I am just worried that it might attract any extra customs...Shall I mail them to change the description or shall I wait till it actually reaches India..and customs is calculated...

Its not like every mobile phone will be labeled as Iphone, but Aramex very regularly wrongly classifies items.
You can mail them or contact them on Twitter/FB and ask them to change the description. However, if your item has already left New York for Dubai, i don't think asking for any change will make any difference now.
