got my samsung galaxy s vibrant today, went to the aramex office behind leela palace HAL 2nd stage,
all went well and the phone in my hand for approx 14500 including shipping and duty :yahoo::yahoo:
liked the service from aramex (shopandship), anuradha and the staff in bangalore office were very helpful .
from ordering to delivery total 8 days (thats fast)
now ordered a logitech harmony fingers crossed

by "cd md" if u mean cdma then its not, samsung galaxy vibrant is a gsm/wcdma phone and i am using it as gsm phone ( i just unlocked it using the method on xda developers website and its a cool phone .

That's good to hear. Without knowing the consequences as mentioned by other members I ordered an Used (Like-New) Sony BDP from Amazon for my cousin. Let's see how it will turnout.

No question is ever silly - answers may be silly.

1. Yes. You can order anything from any eCommerce website and get it shipping to the (pseudo) S&S address.
2. You can even ask someone to buy from a "brick and mortor" shop and ship it to S&S address.
3. Aramex, S&S will then ship it to your real Indian address.
5. For duty exemption, the bill of lading/invoice must clearly state that the item(s) value and that they are gifts.
6. Customs may use their own valuation method.
7. Gifts upto INR 10k are duty exempti; but this is not a guarantee. Customs may decide that "gifting" is a sham to avoid duty.
8. If the value of the item is above 10K, the entire amount is dutiable. This case is not like normal baggage where there is an exemption of 25k and the balance value is charged to duty.

This is to the best of my knowledge and indeed some answers could be "silly".

reached in 1 week flat .
extremely well packed & handled .no issues .

Received my LOTR extended edition and Sucker Punch BD today, the shipment reached ARAMEX New York last Saturday and I got it in Chennai yesterday

The shipment weighed 1300gms and I was charged Rs.1300 for shipping, no custom duty was charged :yahoo:
