I bought the 32" version of LW4500, this october. Yea, its the flicker free FPR 3D, slapped with the brand name "cinema 3d". Unfortunately, the TV had light bleed in the northeast and southwest corners. So I went for a replacement. It took 3 weeks to get the replacement tv, as guys at LG said, they were short of this model, and were waitin for fresh pieces out of the production line. The replacement tv I got is defect free, with no light bleed. 3D performance is really good. This one exposes all FPR has in store. So If you are in the market for an FPR, this is it.
My Media setup goes like this:
1) Cable connects to the RF socket for regular channels.
2) Mac Mini connects to the HDMI1, for the HD/3D media experience.
3) Blu Ray player connects to the HDMI2, for BluRay discs.
4) Exisiting DVD player goes into the RCA.
The 3rd HDMI is waiting for a DTH or IPTV. I prefer IPTV than DTH, so I am waitin for it. At times, the 3rd HDMI is used to connect my Macbook for sharing photos with my family, as I maintain separate iPhoto libraries.
The TV, Mac Mini and BluRay player are connected to an UPS. This way I get sometime to gracefully stop/pause my media experience, in case of a power outage. I get around 10 to 15 mins of backup time, with Mac Mini and TV switched on. I havent tested the backup time, when watching blu ray movies, but a logical guess would be, it would give a few more juice of backup, as BR player consumes less power than the Mac Mini.
wrt brightness and contrast, I have the "energy saving" mode set to "Auto", with picture mode set to "Intelligent sensor". This way, I get the ambient light sensor in the tv to calculate the perfect "picture" for the room ambience. My house's balcony is in the west of my living room, so during the day time, brightness/contrast of the tv depends upon how sunny the day is. Ambient light sensor is really good, and implemented very well by LG.
One thing I am unable to understand is the Tru Motion. The TV is not marketed with this feature. But the TV menu has it and turnin it to high from low, does show difference in the picture. Personally, I like the soap opera effect due to TruMotion, while watching movies. It also has MCI of 400Hz.
"nirajkothavade", please share your experience with your 42LW4500 regards to TruMotion and MCI performance in your 42LW4500.
