Bravia HX850 successor -W900A with Quantum Dot !

i went to three local dealers today dey didnt had w800a yet, would reach them in next 3 days or so i was also checking on the prices but they also had no idea, saw w650 in display real beauty with slim bezel ,looked so v diffrent to 2012 models which were thr, one thing to notice was every dealer had huge stocks of hx750 but not a single hx850

What did you think of Picture Quality compared to 2012 models ?:)

Thr was airtel sd channel on display n it made it look poor for some reason thr blue ray setup was still connected to hx750 , but i simply loved d design puts it in same league of some lg n samsung models

Please avoid using SMS type language. I think it is against forum rules. The forum does not restrict your replies to n number of characters. So why cringe. Besides SMS text looks awful and it is definitely not cool. Abbreviating some words like AFAIK or HTH or IMHO, is OK and accepted. Thanks for understanding.

Do you guys think its best to go for W800a instead of hx850, im planning to get 40 incher, i was inclined to hx850 earlier but thought its best to wait instead to rushing to buy the old one.

Although the motionflow rate is low in w800a(when compared to hx850) is that a huge difference or one cant distinguish it, and fellow members here "can you make a table of Pro's and Con's and a brief comparision between the two (W800a and Hx850)
And let me tell this, this is the first time we im buying tv since 10 years so till now we used 21" TV and the DTH guy told he is unable to connect dish to our TV so for that sake im replacing the TV to brand new LED with budget upto 100k and 40 or 42" is the preferred size, our family used to watch most of the 3D movies in mall near our home, so 3D is preferred !

prices are out on sony website for w800a
42 inch is rs 82900,
47 inch 1,02,900
55 inch 1,54,900
so prices are little higher than outgoing model hx750

Oh!! I just missed it by Rs.1090; never mind.:)
Thanks for the prices, shainz. They look to be good for now.

Have been following some threads for this model on other forums and the responses from people who have actually bought this are very good.
Waiting for some official reviews now.

If you are able to find an hx850, I will suggest that you should indeed go for it. 'It is one heck of a TV.'
But again I see that you have also mentioned 3D as a criteria. In that case, you will like the passive 3D on the w800 more.
HX850 gives you unmatched 2d picture quality(amongst LED LCD TVs), but for 3D its still has some short-comings.

Well regarding your search for a new HDTV, I am also in the same situation. My current TV is a 17yr old BPL 20" and it is still doing good. Times have changed and I have been on a look-out for quite a while now.

47" w800a market price would be around 98K with 4 pairs of TDG-500P glasses. Awesomeness! LG's gonna have a tough time, if SONY performs well.

I found out that infibeam.com has hx850 in stock so the dilemma is to go for 850 or w800a ?
although we wont be watching 3D all the time, 2D and SD channels (regional ones) most of the time. So based on this can you help me cos in home we wont get HD channels for kannada languages so SD is quality watched most of the time, with that can you give me your final opinion on tv hx850 or w800a.

I have gone through reviews and since its my first buy i wont find that much difference cos everything is new to me, this happened when i had planned to buy a monitor for my PC 2 years ago ultimately i got DELL U23 ultra sharp IPS panel and im satisfied with it till now

None of the tvs you have shortlisted will be really great for SD viewing. If you are so sure that most, e.g. more than 70-80% is going to be used for SD viewing even in the next 2 to 3 years than better go for a cheaper HD ready TV, as they produces better SD PQ.

thanks for the reply and you are right cos i cant go and ask regional channel people to make it HD but i can watch so according to you should i get a 32 inch or 40 only with plasma and also i'm told that plasma has good PQ ( i might not be right about it). i have kept 1.2 lakh as budget aside for TV so let me go through many replies and will come to a conclusion :)

Frankly speaking if my prority is SD, then I will go for 42x50 plasma or some 32 or 40 LED from Sony or Samy, but sure they have a 40 led which is not full hd. In that case 32" led is your only option among LEDs. Hope it helps.
