Checklist to avoid buying Demo Piece - LCD /Plasma Tv

Hi Guyz,

I am planning to purchase Samsung 51' Plasma(51F5500), please help me in checking the usage of the panel. I have read in the forum about this which works fine till 'E' series as in 'F' series the Remote Control is changed and we cant find the button like 'Info, Menu' etc.

Your help is much Appreciated.

Is it possible to reset the usage hours of samsung led tv by dealer or by ourselves?

Just ordered LG 42PN4500 Plasma @ Reliance Digital.
I want to know, how to check hours (usage), and i insisted to the dealer that i will not accept used piece. He orally assured me.
But i,am not going to take any risk for the same. Kindly let me know. How to check usage for above model.
 
Just an update to above thread. . Today I asked LG Technician, who came for installation. I asked there any means of checking usage hours. It is very simple; hold settings button + Red Button on the remote, it shows service menu. and also shows number of hours of usage of TV.

I just looked into sr.No and manufacturing dates. It is Aug.2013.
 
Reliance Digital has a policy that they will never deliver display pieces. I have bought a fridge and washing machine from them. I told them that I do not want to see display pieces. They said their store never sells display pieces. I am now planning to buy a 40 inch LCD tv from them. However, I will still check before accepting a piece.

i recently bought a pioneer rs 33 from reliance digital.. actually i went for buying for a rs 32..the sales guy convinced me to go for a rs 33..after a bargaining session is settled in for a rs 33.. and the next day i got a delivery...of a rs 32 model...the one which i had demoed...i was very irritated..i called up the guy and asked him..he said its a fresh piece.. luckily for him.. there was no remote of wires or manual or anything that the company puts in in a fresh piece..they have asked me for a one week period to replace it.. should i mount the issue and ask for a freebie??

Don't just let it go. They have already taken you for a ride. RAISE AN ISSUE, compliant to reliance/ poineer authorities for these mal practices. Hopefully you have paid with non-fake currency, and then are you entitled to these demo piece?

Please raise the issue and only settle with some discount/ freebies for their malpractices/ fraud so that they understand the value of their customers and at least think TWICE before sending a demo piece to someone else.
 
It was paid thro a credit card.. The rs 32 was costing me about 33k..he said the rs 33 was 41k and would give it for 37k along with a 3d bluray.. But he billed it for 33k and 4k separately.. I was confused.. I'm thinking of canceling the order if I don't get a replacement by 31 of this month..
 
It is sad to note that managing directors of TV manufacturing companies in India want to protect these same scrupulous dealers who give used/demo products, by disallowing tourist/NRIs to import their own TVs as per the new customs notification.
