Denon x4800h new humming noise

By coiling I meant extra wire folded just behind the avr. If the wire is going straight to the avr without any folding (example on the floor) and you are getting that noise without any inputs connected, then there is really some issue. Also that hum did not sound like 50 Hz.

If it is EMI then you should be hearing 50 Hz sound. Install the spectroid android app and can you let me know what the app shows?
i will record in night

Call an electrician and get the earthing checked, he will help you solve the issue. Once the earthing is sorted your other appliances will also thank you.

What happens if earthinghas issues?

i dont have these issues at all .
Earthing issue will be tested by the electrician.since from the beginning I was pointing to that earthing needs to be recharged with water every now and then otherwise it leads to fault like heating of power amplifiers, humming sound.
Earthing issue means it's the problem with the neutral line .
Do better call an electrician and get it tested.its for the safety of the equipment not for shocks

ok thnk you i will

If you can consistently recreate the problem at another location (someone else's place where their equipment (ideally another Denon or even better the same model) do not show any signs of being affected then perhaps you can try your luck with the dealer and demo the problem to them. You have to go through a process of elimination to be able to isolate and identify the problem.

After all this whether you get replacement or directed to service center or just told that it's normal or that they don't hear anything wrong with the AVR depends on the dealer.

You could try contacting Denon, International customer service and make
your case calmly and logically listing what your have tried in a clear logical manner. You may luck out and get an actual technical person or they might just bounce you back to the dealer or service center. If you are going to take this approach prepare to make your case in a clear manner.

One question do you get the feeling of voltage flowing through the unit when you touch it? (be careful trying this though). IIRC there was a long thread on the forum about a particular Yamaha AVR that exhibited this particular issue. I don't recall if there was any humming sound but the feeling of voltage flowing through the chassis was mentioned by multiple people.
Hi todsy my only sony tv and apple tv 4k device was on. I thought to give it a try and touching sony oled body felt same as denon does like static buildup thing. Whts happening?

Keep in mind that static does not discharge from plastic. Regardless, get your wiring fixed. A bad earth connection is just not good for you and equipment.

Does anyone else in your home experience what you describe? Get an electrician to visit and check to see if they can feel the static buildup that you describe.

Ok so can you tell what do i say to AN electrician EXACTLY?

That's vibration then. You won't feel static electricity discharge when you touch plastic, though some plastics help build up a static charge through friction.

Can you try an app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.intoorbit.spectrum&hl=en_IN and record the vibration and then make one more recording with the app with the rubber pads in place and there is no vibration. Ensure the duration of recording use the app is the same in both cases,.

You can then use https://web-toolbox.dev/en/tools/image-compare-slider to compare the images. If the app is able to pick up the vibration then it will show up in the compare.
Do i have change any settings in app or keep default? Also do it in night or day

Denon in built amp sounds like crap to me. In fact i could hear 'Hiss' from tweeters when idle. If the powerline is not clean this hiss gets converted to humm from speakers. Since its not from speakers , its less botheration.
This weekend connected my old pioneer lx57 instead of denon 4800 and was conparing back to back ...pioneer sounded more powerful in every aspect...not just the "lows" (thumps and thuds was enthusiastic) but also the mids and highs were forceful like it had a texture to it.

In fact people at home in the ground could hear the voice clearly...but when played from denon at the same decibel (volume) only subs were heard

After listening to pioneer for quite some time when switched back to denon- everything sounded like plain vanila sh-it...

One advantage to denon is there was no boom whereas the pioneer in many times boomy....

I could suggest you first take an inspection with your electrician to see if your earthing is proper or not. we don't know if something is wrong with earthing; it's not about humming; it can damage your devices too.

If the earthing is wrong, you can fix it and enjoy your system, and later on, you can add an MCB to your HT room and take a direct connection from the meter box. This will be a great and efficient way for the long run and safety. because you are watching movies, and if someone is using a mixer or iron box, the AV receiver will catch noise quickly. But this is the second part: first you try to fix earthing if something is wrong.
