DIY: Pass F5 turbo v2 initiated

Another update - MOSFETs are in Pune local PO. Waiting for delivery today, seems holiday or Monday. Diodes are following this.

:yahoo:
It's here, got just now, this packet contains only MOSFETs and 100 diodes. :) 4lbs declared price 36.0USD and postage 52.0USD. Customs for this packet is Rs 2200. now waiting for another parcel. That will contain remaining diodes.

That's pretty fast receipt from US.

This can be used for 8-20W Class A Amps and horizontal fins might not be a problem there, but for F5 Turbo as you said might need bigger than this and vertical fins also do good advantage.

When i get time i will be developing an Oil Cooled type heat sink to use with class A amp applications hence can reduce the need for big heat sink. I shall post images when i done with that.

Something useful to look at - silicone heat conductive pads now made in India with
thermal conductivity seems better than the usual heat sink compounds.
They have heat-pipe type heatsinks too.

Thermally Conductive Gap Fillers

Quad,

Thanks for your help. I do need such compound to attach between the heat sinks. Let me check with manufacturers if they sell in small quantities.

Thanks

Jfets received

Received matched Jfets from Spencer today,no custom on them.Waiting few more parts to come than will start shipping kits.
Can anyone suggest me good packing material for F5 kit.I am finding it very difficult to get cardboard boxes of F5 PCB size.

Regards,
Sachin

Okay..so wify is out and I can scatter the bounty on bed. :D

All parts are separated and packed to make individual sets. Only waiting for 11 sets of diodes from US. Once they are in, I am done.

MOSFETs, clips, sleeves, presets, NTCs, small switching noise eliminating caps and ground isolators bridges.

My progress on the cabinet making

This is the first time I am working with aluminium cabinet. Till now made satisfactory progress.

My cabinet making progress report.

Material details
Front plate and Back plate thickness 7.5mm
Top and bottom plate 3 mm
Angler 1 inch wide both ways and 3.5 mm thick.
Screws used mostly stainless steel m5 and 12 mm deep for heat sinks and m5 and 20mm deep for bolt nut combination connecting front and back plates to the anglers.

Got the cabinet done. Need to make hole for power plug. I had trouble finding trapezoidal die to make. Will look into other options.
Need more investigation on the RCA jack fitting before I make holes for that.

Front two holes for leds
Back 4 holes for speaker binding posts. Middle hole for the switch.

WOrking with aluminium is significant effort. So far spent aroung Rs 2000 for job work. Rs 2500 for the aluminium material.

To make to it scratch proof, Plan on black anodizing the heat sinks and the top plate.
Will do aluminium anodizing on the front and the back plates.

want to place the spindle of transformers in the middle of the cabinet.

Thanks
Pandu
