Completed the SSP connection & time to test.Sachin did the half part & rest me.
Thanks Sachin for help.

Frens,

finally tried to give some extra juice for my SSP. Thanks to Captain Rajesh, who got my PSU and LDR kit. Assembled the PSU kit and checked all the vital parameters-- To the spec!
Next hunt was for a Cab. Went to Pooja Electronics in SP road and picked up a Stereo Cabinet for 200Rs. Drilled neccessary holes for the RCA's and volume Pots. Assembled everything. Then started the long trial and error method to balance the LDR's 2 channel. My patience ran out and it stood at 15.6k (Left Channel) and 17.1k (Right channel). Tried all different screw setting on the variable pot. but doesnt seem to work. Finally doing the channel balance on the amp.
Just ordered the Acrylic Face plates (Front and Back) and also ordered the 6 channel input selector kit from ebay. Once that arrives, will give the finishing touches to the Pre.

Hi,

I tried to run SSP like this-

Xonar D2X > SSP> AT-M50 headphone.

Batteries are 9v one new(regular),other unopened(6month old),not from Duracell.
I turned SSP,but very low output.Lost soundstage.Even I turned full volume on,hardly total gain.I dont know what it could be.any guesses?

Hi,
I was never into computer audio or headphones(Anyone help).I have found few things on web
Line level outputs typically have a source impedance of 50 to a few hundred ohms. They are intended to drive loads that have a high input impedance, usually greater than 5k ohms. They are typically optimized for very low noise and low distortion when used with high impedance loads.
In my understanding SSP will not work as a headphone amp.You can try this combo: Xonar D2X > SSP>Line level input of your amp
The above combo should work.

Regards,
Sachin

Hi,

The chip (OPA 2134) datasheet mentions this "OPA134 series op amps are capable of driving 600? loads with power supply voltage up to 18V." So noway you can drive headphone with it. If you need to drive then replace feedback resistance 10K?->8.2K?, 8.2K? -> 2K?, 100?->33? and still not get result then try another OPAMP like NE5532.

Thanks

Thanks for reply,I will try with amp first, then go for headphone option.

2134 with gain is basically a cmoy headphone amp.
you can also use ne5532. for better current capability, use njm4556.

Hi,
since its a line level amp and modification may not provide good results. It may provide a hign gain to drive Headphones, but performance may not be at par with other HP amps.

Sachin

Finally I manage to integrate CNC and SSP in one box. Though the enclosure is not that great but still I felt better than wooden enclosure. Got the enclosure from Pooja electronics and for facelift I used aluminum sheet.

Congratulations! That's a killer looking cab. How it is sounding?

Frens,

finally found the time and energy to assemble the last segment of my SSP build :) . Got the 6 channel inputs selector kit from ebay hk. Got 2 front acrylic plates from a local switch board plate maker . Overall cost of the cabinet build for SSP

1. Cabinet (Pooja Electronics- SP Rd) = 200 Rs
2. 2 Knobs = 20 Rs
3. RCA sockets (gold Plated - MX)30*9= 270 Rs
4. Power Cord = 50 Rs
5. Fuse Holder & Fuse = 20 Rs
6. 5A Toggle Power Switch = 20 Rs
Total Cost = 580 Rs
+++++ Loads of Patience and 2 Night outs :ohyeah:

I have added provision to integrate my DEQ 2496, by having extra sockets for EQ IN and EQ out, controlled by a switch at the back.

Some Pics to Savor

vin eme, cab looks fab! Especially for the 200 bucks that you paid. Everything is so neatly laid out. What about the transformer and power supply circuit?
