DIY Super Simple Preamp

Om, Sachin,

did an analysis and found out that 2 things were wrong
1. 100k and 100 ohms were interchanged
faultce.jpg

2. Volume pot was bad. Short between 2legs on one channel and second channel was open/broken.

Fixed it and tested with spare NE5532, sounds fantastic....Will be handing over the kit to Santhosh in the coming week.

cheers,
Vincent.

Om,

Sachin infact shipped a replacement opamp as well. But same symptoms. Santosh is planning to visit my place this weekend. We will try to sort it out and update.

I would like to thank Vincent from bottom of my heart for the help which he offered. He spent around 5 hours of his specially on weekend to fix the issue. Next time I will be extra careful with my DIY project.

Regards,

Santosh

Hey all.
I just got the pre amp mode done on my Norge 4242. sounds very natural and pleasing. No scratching highs or bumpy lows. Its worth a try for all into CD music.

My thanks to Murali (murali_n)and other in the form for starting up with this tread.

Sachin

since i had to house the PSU as well which i am waiting to get the order. I did a simple 10 bucks snack box housing temporarily for the SSP. Here it is

What is CNC phonostage is doing in the SSP thread?

I took back the SSP preamp from FM Mathew Syriac just half an hour back and that's why remembered the circuit vividly.

BTW, I don't need the SSP as I'm going the all B1 way. If anyone wants a fully assembled SSP can ping me. I even have an assembled LDR to spare.
