Fans of Television Series

I love court room dramas, if they are intriguing and realistic ...... One of the two very interesting court room dramas I have seen are ... SHARK and the ultimate awesome The Good Wife ....... after that I am seriously looking for a good intriguing, glue to seat court room drama tv series.

The one which was recommended to me and I have high hopes is Suits, though I still have to start this. next I am adding Newsroom and The practice

If anyone has seen all 3, suits, newsroom and the practice can suggest which one is more intriguing and I can start that. Though I personally feel suits is something I might enjoy most

I have watched Suits till its latest run (S03E04) so far and it's really an interesting show. First 2 seasons, I had watched in just 2 weeks and last month, season 3 got started. Initial 3 episodes were little slow and boring, but I saw 4th episode last night and I think the show is back on the track again.

As I mentioned earlier as well, it's not much of a Court Room drama show. It mostly focuses on out of court story of a case. Actors are good, dialogues are great, humour is great in this show. There are lot of pop-culture references in this show, which are quite intriguing and tests you... how up-to date you're, as far as movies, tv shows and current affairs are concerned!!

I've watched all three (along with the good wife) and you should NOT miss any one of them. Newsroom is only in its second season currently and there have been 14 episodes so far so it won't take much of your time. Suits, I'm sure you'll love but not coz of the courtroom drama. Just coz its a goddamn great show anyways.

The Practice is the true courtroom drama. I've personally not seen anything better in this genre but coming from the good wife and suits, you probably won't like it in the beginning. So in my personal opinion, start with suits and newsroom and dig into practice after those two. And after that you can start with Boston Legal, spinoff of The Practice. More of a comedy than a courtroom drama but its still pretty good. There, you're all set for next couple of months or so. :D

I can vouch for The Practice. It is the quintessential court room drama, everything happens in or around the court room. Granted that there are portions which are sensationalized and I do not think can be so dramatic inside a real court room, but this is fiction and if you are talking about entertainment value then you do not go wrong with The Practice. It is currently airing on Fox Crime every weekday night at 11 pm and I rarely dare to miss it.
You do get a disillusioned idea of justice and how ethics hold sway in a court room for prosecution and defense. Don't miss it!

I've seen all three, and can highly recommend all three. They all have very intelligent scripts but also mix up seriousness with some humor.

Suits is an interesting mix of high powered lawyers and some drama combined with a young guy struggling to live in this world but also battling with huge mistakes (even crimes) of his past. Very stylized, but also human. Good to watch.

The Practice is actually a typical lawyer series but with lots of very interesting moral dilemma kind of legal problems combined with superb acting, and backed by lots of style and class. Its also surprisingly funny!

Newsroom - what can I say?! You should watch the trailer. Unlike movies though, the rest of the episodes are (almost) equally good too.

The Newsroom - America is not the greatest country in the world anymore...(Restricted language) - YouTube

---------

The other TV series that I really enjoyed this year were Monday Mornings (think doctor version of Practice - somewhat) and Elementary.

I would suggest starting with Newsroom (although it is a bit America centric in terms of current affairs), or Elementary. It really is a very refreshing take on Sherlock.

Oh I forgot White Collar. An art forger teams up with an FBI agent to solve crimes. A unique script if you want something different. I actually preferred it over Suits but both are nice and this is just personal preference.

Thansk you all @asliarun, nsinghal, shibashis for you all valuable inputs, I guess I will then go fro all three and if all three turned out to be worth, then as nsinghal correctly said I am all set for next couple of months .... :D .

I am starting off with suits ..... Hope its interesting enough to glue me .. :) .

I am really really finding hard to get a show that will actually literally make me glue to my seat.......recently I started watching like 7,8 shows and left all after couple of episodes ......few examples .

Orphan Black
Once upon a time
awkward
Touch
Continuum
Defiance
Falling Skies

All fail to actually hold my interest enough to make me glue to my seat. The only one that I somewhat kept watching was "Touch" coz it started of really really good, but then again lost it somewhere after 6,7 episodes .......

Lets see how suits holds up .... got first 5 episodes, starting today ... :)

Well finished the first Season of SUITS. Along with Suits I also arranged for first 3 ep of The newsroom. I will talk about SUITS later, but after the first season was completed, I thought I give a try to The Newsroom, since it might take a day or two to arrange the second season of SUITS.

I will just start by saying .......MIND BLOWING Fcukin awsome first episode. THIS is what I was waiting for. The first show has completely blown me off. Concept is new atleast for me for all the TV Series I have seen. This probably is the first time I am reviewing a TV Series after watching the very first show itself. Usually I wait for 4-5 before I provide my preliminary review of any show on a TV Series thread on any forum.
But this ....... man this is something different and altogether to a different level.

The writing I think is the most intellectual I have seen, its just excellent. The details are impeccable. Top notch performance by every single person that shares the screen. The screenplay and the dialogues are immaculate, with enough glimpse of humor and sarcasm that it holds the pace together and just right for the show. Its quality drooling all over. Not to forget technically.......and I dont think any show I have seen has surpassed The Newsroom (though still very early to judge)

I just bloody hope it stays the way it is ......... After a long time I was glued to the seat with this episode ...... Seriously hope that all other episodes are as interesting as the first was ...... really looking forward to this show ....8.5/10 ... but with just first episode, its not a final rating.

Well Sam your affinity toward The Newsroom has caught my attention. I will give it a go, excited at its prospect, hope that it remains as good as you have experienced it to be.

Caught up with first 4 seasons, pretty raunchy and laid back life style of a LA writer and his social issues, quite average but has kind of a flair to it.

I've always liked your reviews on various subjects. Its to the point and in detail. As suggested I have watched a few of the TV seasons and really enjoyed them.
Some of them 24, Lost, Prison Break, Sherlock Holmes, The Good Wife (waiting for season 5).

Now getting ready for Suits and The Newsroom.

Thanks again.

Whose Line Is It Anyway? has restarted. Not shown in India yet, but I hope they show the new season soon.

Still love watching both the old versions on Youtube - The original BBC series that ran for 11 seasons from late 80s and the later US version from late 90s.

The new season has older versions of Ryan Styles, Colin Mochrie and Wayne Brady.

On another note, Comedy Central has started showing M*A*S*H again. I have them recorded on TS+. Doesn't look dated at all.

Started "Touch" last night, watched a couple of episodes (infact 2 of them) and they are extremely interesting in every way. A new story and perspective.

I hope it keeps me glued into it. Sadly Fox did not continue the series and it was cancelled, and now only 2 seasons to watch.

Fans of "The Good Wife"... time to renew your viewing pleasure.

CBS has renewed the TV Show - The Good Wife for a fifth season. The first episode would be aired on Sept 29, 2013.

(Information from the mighty Google)

I have a very off the wall suggestion.
Try Initial D.

It is an anime series available on Netflix. Very stylishly done and a fascinating insight into the underground subculture of amateur street car racing and especially 'drifting' in Japan. It is not without its faults and clearly is targeted to a young audience and gets very juvenile sometimes, but personally I could not stop watching once I started, mainly because there is so very little coverage on drifting. If Fast and the furious appealed to you as a car lover (and not the mass market appeal of it), I think you will like this movie.
