Fans of Television Series

I use WD tv live for watching stuff on tv. It has netflix so i stream directly on tv. Otherwise you can also browse file on nas or pc and play them directly on tv.

How do you switch to netflix uk, usually i watch stuff on netflix US only. Is their something specific you need to do on the media player. I used WD tv live.
You're using unblock-us right? Just go to its homepage and switch netflix region to uk or any other country.

P.S. Check out The Blacklist as well. A bit more "commercial" than the others, but extremely slick and high budget production, and extremely well edited (think 24) - in fact it rivals many big budget movies. I lap up stuff like the Jason Bourne series and spy / international crime/political conspiracy stuff and this is right up there with the good movies. And of course, if you have watched Boston Legal, you cannot but help watching The Blacklist. James Spader is just awesome at what he does.

thanks for that tip...Blacklist is really Slick and keeps you bewildered on the real intent/identity etc of most of the characters.
Loved it

hey guys.. I have been a fan of Dexter and have watched all the seasons...
What do you people watch these series on? Cuz it makes a hell of a difference to watch them on a laptop compared to when you watch them on a big size LED TV!!

Everything is on TV only; via either Bluray discs or HDD streaming via Bluray player.
I have watched Dexter till 6th season...off course I like it cause it's a unique show on serial killer. Watched this show on Bluray only and it's a great looking show in terms of visual and sound effects. Awaiting for season 8 Bluray to be released, then I'll finish its season 7 & 8 as well.

Pride and Prejudice (TV Mini-Series 1995) - IMDb - Absolutely one of the best "filmed" versions of this classic novel by Jane Austen. I remember watching it as a kid (probably on Star World) and it was my first introduction to Colin Firth and now watching it years later I still believe he is the best Mr. Darcy ever. Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet is excellent and conveys the emotions and the strong will of the character perfectly.

Highly recommended if you are from Mars or Venus and don't know Pride and Prejudice and even if you have read the book and watched the many movies from Hollywood as well as the bad Aishwarya Rai version... this TV series comes highly recommended for the personal home collection.

The Blu-ray version has excellent detail in the PQ and the SQ while devoid of any explosions or gunfire is still excellent for the dialogues and the background ambient sounds.

I guess 'Pride & Prejudice' goes into my watchlist now :)
I found that British Shows have a different narrative style after trying shows like 'The Fall', 'Broadchurch', 'Sherlock', 'Foyle's War'. And they do have good soundtrack to draw viewers' attention.
I even watched the pilot of 'Downton Abbey' and liked it. Its title suite is a beautiful piece of music. This looks a beautiful drama and I have planned to watch this show on Bluray only after few months.
However I personally have hard time understanding British accent in their shows, so watching them with subtitles becomes mandatory...but subtitles are never a problem at all for me.

Pride and Prejudice is easy to follow along... I'm sure you will do fine without subtitles barring the odd dialogue or exchange that might be interspersed.

I 100% agree about the difficulty in comprehending the British... especially those who are not educated in English but still speak it. I'm watching Hunted right now and some of the supporting characters are hard to understand and I find myself rewinding and enabling the subtitles for those sections.

Personally though I find subtitles very distracting... TV (IMHO) and especially the English entertainment channels have been ruined for me since the addition of subtitles.

Breaking BAD - Season 2 .... Just completed season two of BB, and I must say season two was much more serious and slow paced as well. In the first season, we had that ton of dry black comedy, but with SE02 specially after EP4, the show has turned to be very grim and slow as well. Slow as not in boring, but gradual, one that grows on two you. I must say the performances of the two protagonists is super excellent, right at the top with Claire Danes of Homeland.

Best part is none of the situation is dealt with what you feel is the clichd way to deal. Most of the time is very unexpected but totally believable ........ loving the show.

About that acting......want to share a really nice piece of news, Anthony Hopkinsthe legendary actor, director[/b] has personally praised Bryan Cranston for the role of Walter White. Check this out, his letter to the man ...

Anthony Hopkins Writes Fanboy Letter to Bryan Cranston About Breaking Bad - ABC News

Off to season 3 for me .... will up date later

Guys try (Orange Is the New Black (TV Series 2013 ) - IMDb). Dark comedy about a woman in her thirties who is sentenced to 15 months in prison after she is convicted of a decade old crime of transporting money for her drug dealing girlfriend. Watched the first 3 episodes and its really good. I mean it has adult content and its has its funny moments. Getting rest of the episodes now...

Also just finished Fringe after reading so much about it. One of the great TV series I have seen. Really worth all the hype...

Also watching Dexter final series, so for its ok. Nothing great.

Breaking Bad final season is pending, saving it, don't feel like saying goodbye to Walter White :-)

I watched Dracula' s pilot - it's worth checking, I tell you! Fans of Hannibal should be satisfied.

I've watched all but the last three episodes of OITNB. Not sure if I like the series as much as I did when I started watching it. It's getting kinda repetitious now. House of cards on the other hand was pretty good and kept my interest throughout the season.

Also a bitter sweet moment for me. One of my favourite series is coming to an end. ie The Practice. Been watching it on Zee Cafe daily. The final season is now on. Most of the major cast already left the series. :(
But the good news is James Spader is in the final season. That pretty much makes up for the loss of old crew. :D

Hahaha.... Hating Skyler is another phenomenon in Breaking Bad... I knew this will come... My friend almost killed her, while we used to watch BB
I'll share a pic of Skyler with you, just let me know when you're done with Season 4 ;-)

You might want to move on to Boston Legal and then The Blacklist - if you are a fan of James Spader like I am. Boston Legal was so much fun to watch! And they made single malts sexy again ;-)

can someone me suggest a good sitcom where the plot is centered around friends group like like friends bigbang theory.

Hunted (TV Series 2012 ) - IMDb - Espionage thriller, good cast and good acting, the premise is simple, Sam needs to infiltrate a family and stop a business deal from taking place. Also, previously Sam has been double crossed by another agent in her group and she now has the double agenda of finding the mole within her organization. Good serial... too bad it was cancelled.

Alias (TV Series 20012006) - IMDb - The series that introduced the world to J.J. Abrams and made a star of Jennifer Garner. Once again spy/espionage stuff... have seen a couple of seasons previously on AXN but failed to followup for lack of time... starting with Season 1 again and all through to Season 5.

Ah, I didn't mention in that post but the reason I was happy about Spader in The Practice is coz I've already watched (and loved) boston legal. Finding out there's "almost" a whole season of boston legal I've still not watched (ie the final season of practice) is the perfect Diwali gift for me :D

Unfortunately, I don't share your enthusiasm for the blacklist. Its mediocre at best IMO. Having a big budget and a good star cast doesn't make a show great for me. Every scene with Spader in it is worth watching on its own but once you combine them, the story, the plot and the ridiculously dumb portrayal of anyone but Spader made the show unwatchable to me. Watching one episode a week isn't really helping the show for me either. I'll give it another try if it shows up on netflix though.
