This is a remake of Forbrydelsen Sewdish noir TV show at its best. I have watched the whole series. After watching the original, I don't want to watch a remake. The original was superbly satisfying.

Yes you have to watch tilll the end, the original kept me on the edge of the seat.

Homeland Season 3 done, really great series, you end up loving, hating & getting emotionally attached to a lot of characters, hope there is redemption for Broody in Season 4 or is it a all new ball game?

On a side note, after watching some great TV shows with complete seasons lately, wonder if i have the temperament to watch a 2-3 movies, this happens to any of you folks?

happens to me a lot. also hollywood movies are degrading nowadays, predictable unimaginative plots while tv shows are taking risks and getting more awesome (POI )

well it sure is edge of the seat material, but the thing is ...... sitting on the edge for so long has the risk of breaking the seat itself ... :D .. that is what is happening, I have started to feel now (I am at ep 11 season 2) that they are kind off dragging the case now. If they are gonna keep the killer a secret till the end of season 4. I am sure I am gonna loose interest some where in the middle ....... lets see

True Detective, brilliant performances by Matthew McConaughey & Woody Harrelson, amazing narrative & chemistry between them. The producers, writers & directors too needs one big applaud for pulling out a gem. Also like the fact that within 8 episodes of 1st season we have a partial if not a complete closure.(seems so)

The credits theme song at the start, "The Handsome Family - Far From Any Road" is just amazing & really sets the mood.

I finished Fargo (the miniseries) yesterday night. It is indeed excellent and lives up to all the very good reviews. Everybody's done a good job.

I may be the minority on this, but I personally think Billy Bob Thornton was not really used to his full potential. I did not find him menacing enough in the first few episodes, but towards the end, they had built up enough history from his actions to make him scary enough. But this took too much time, and for a menacing character who does not have a lot of speaking parts, I think Malvo could have been presented better.

A very good example of a really evil character who does not talk much (and does not even get a lot of screen time) is Javier Bardem's Chigurrh in No Country For Old Men (from the Coen Brothers themselves). Right from the time he's on screen, you're really scared of Chigurrh He's unvarnished evil incarnate. If Chigurrh sneezes suddenly, you jump! I didn't get that from Lorne Malvo, though Malvo had a LOT more screen time and dialog than Chigurrh.

Going by his previous work, I don't think Billy Bob Thornton is to blame here. He was probably just under utilized.

That said, none of this takes away from the enjoyment of Fargo. It is really hard to believe that the events shown really happened: So much human error, stupidity, oversight, and plain old jealousy and malice! And as the Chief said, so many bodies -- many more than the town had ever seen!

Hence proved again...Sam's recommendations always work for me.

I started watching 'Switched At Birth' after I was done with FIFA world cup...
Well..this is purely a family drama with a bunch of lovely teenagers and I have mostly liked watching teenager movies in past few years..so this show is total fun. All the characters are cool and it feels like school and college days while watching this show....
Finished only 8 episode of season 1 so far... and it's a long drama with 30 episodes in first season...so I am gonna enjoy next couple of months watching and reaching till its latest 3rd season...

I am missing Switched at birth like anything .... it was such a pleasure ..... though it still airing its going to take some time before Netflix provides the episodes .... Till then The Killing continues :)

and the deaf aspect really really adds to the authenticity and novelty of the show. I learnt atleast 5-10% of hearing impaired language just by watching the show ... :)

You can keep your seat Sam! This particular story ends with season 2, season 3 starts a new plot.

Person of Interest (TV Series 2011 ) - IMDb - Been meaning to watch this for a while and started it immediately after I was done with Breaking Bad.

Did a marathon session over 2 days to finish season 1 and with an awesome/cliffhanger season finale too for season 1.

Highly recommend it for fans of the thriller/spy/espionage genres or even the crime/murder genres. Its not much of a legal drama, more of an action series, but the action itself is not lame or repetitive like in most serials. At the center of it all is a machine (aka supercomputer) that watches, reads and listens to every phone conversation, every email/SMS, every webcam, etc. all across the world and the US Govt using it to spy on its on people with the obvious caveat they are using it to catch the bad guys AKA Arab terrorists. Still the series does not degenerate into privacy control issues or even issues of morality... but takes a different direction about how a couple of people use the machine to stop crime before it happens.

Jim Caviezel is perfect as the hitman who takes care of the criminals and Michael Emerson is also a perfect fit for the eccentric scientist who created the machine. Rest of the cast are good too.

Definitely recommended especially if you have free time on your hand. Each season is long (23 episodes) so plan for a marathon session or at least doing 2-3 episodes each day.

Watching The good wife season 2 based on the recommendations here. Dont regret... very good show. Hope to finish the entire 5 seasons. Boston legal for some reason didn't capture my continued focus and left it midway season 1. Maybe i'll watch it later.

Person of Interest (TV Series 2011 ) - IMDb - Update...

Probably only GOT, BB & Prison Break compare in terms of marathon sessions for me, but POI is by far the lengthiest at 68 episodes and also the fastest (done 3 seasons/68 episodes in under 1 week).

The series maintains its tempo in Season 2 and even introduces new characters and new storylines in Season 3 to keep the interest going and does not become repetitive or predictable in terms of the plot. Season 1 finale was the best IMHO because of the unexpected cliffhanger but both seasons 2 and 3 do both - have some sort of ending but also have an open arc that needs answers in the next season.

Good series, will not bore you or cause you to use too much of your grey cells, but it also keeps things fun and will keep you interested in both individual episodes as well as the main plot/story arc that the entire series is headed towards especially from season 3.

Good stuff and highly recommended for being a "fun" series.

I usually don't watch TV serials. However I do watch HD prg of National Geography / Masterchef Australia and earlier series "24".

The Killing .... Updating after a long time, was a bit busy in general life ..... anyway but the TV Series was going on. It seems I was right, about The Killing and the writers also realized they have to bring the case to conclusion at the send of season 2, else people would have lost interest (which was happening with me) .... But was glad, it ended with a fine and satisfying ending ...

However for season 3 ....... let me just say it is on a different level all together (I am at EP 10). Its matured, more intense and dark and the purpose is well defined, given the fact the first season was their first case together. The chemistry between Holder and Linden is just ultimate, magical and I have enjoyed watching it. The way they two come together again to work in SE03 is plausible.

SE03 is even more dark but its better paced than first that is why it seems better than SE01/SE02. The whole saga of execution is really really well made and very very well acted by Peter Sarsgaard (Ray Steward) ...... I had a nightmare after one of the episode (coz of spoiler cannot mention) ....

The only drawback or negative aspect one might think off is (and which might put off some viewers) that the show is slow, really slow, almost too slow for its own good ..... so even though the mystery is intriguing and tension built all around you have to have some patience if you want to enjoy this show .....

otherwise top classic show which deserves a 7.2/10 from me ... :)
