You really sure mezzo 2 for 21k ? I got the avianos at that price. Mezzo is a step up from the avianos.

It probably is mezzo 1. Can you just check ?

Yeah i remember clearly he told me mezzos are a step up from avianos. The only thing now im scratching my head about is whether they were mezzo 1 or 2. 90% sure they were mezzo 2. He said they had a special offer and that it was 21k. But i can double check tomorrow.

They sounded pleasing to me. But i dont know how they will sound with a yamaha rxv467 or 371 receiver which im planning to buy.

Checked with them today, its the Mezzo 1 that they are selling for 21k. I did another demo with the speakers connected to Denon 1311. Not that impressive!

hmm so much intrest on the Mezzos 2

Funny .. i found them to be very ordinary especially with cambridge amplification

Infact the Avianos are decent for the price

I have been extremely pleased with Bose. I used 901 in my stereo system and when I went to a 5.1 system I hooked them to a used Bose sub=woofer. They are so versatile in any room. I bought the SW and Bose center from Amazon for less than US $200. The Bose 161 rear speakers were US $150. Good luck. Nothing as nice as good sound at home.

I would have to say Tannoy Mercury F1, Dali Lektor 1 and Monitor Audio BR2 (though the last one was slightly above 20K INR when I purchased them 2 years back)

my vote for Polk Rti A1. Heard them at a pal's place and they were amazing and tempting too! I suppose RTi A3 should sound as good or even better as they have a bigger woof!

RTi3 when connected to Yamaha 667 sounded good in mids & treble.Soundstage was good.Bass was not good(tight & fast).

@razor-Any progress since then, i am really excited about KEF q300 reading expert reviews,Have auditioned them,Anyone who have heard them please share your experience...

I heard them with Denon stereo amp & they were sounding best(considering BS).
I was impressed with quality of Bass they produce. It goes deep without boom when kept in open. There is no notisable coloration is SQ.

hi Spirovious

Do you know of any speakers =< INR 15k? I am on a tight budget here. Right now leaning towards Audioengine A5 (music via iPod) but also contemplating taking the CDP/AMP/BS route if I my money can buy a dynamite system! I have eclectic music tastes and I wanna buy once and buy good! No upgrades/updates for me so I want to get it right the first time I buy! WF 10.1/10.2; Tannoy F1, Paradigm Atom and MA BX2 seem to be quite popular here but they just might be out of my league!

Cheers mate. Raghuram

Audioengine A5 are good one,but I have found few complaining that they die early.Another option can be-

It has DAC too & in your budget.

As only speakers, Q-aco 2020i are said to be better-

In my opinion the best speakers under 20k would easily be the Pioneer SP-FS 51-LR. They are a rage overseas and the uniformly positive reviews about them made me go in for them without auditions. This was a big gamble but it has been one decision that I am most pleased with. The clarity of the speakers even at sound levels high enough for neighbors to call in the police(and the the army and the navy...and the airforce) is exceptional.

I use these speakers for music in the stereo mode on my Yamaha 671 and the base output is just perfect. Even for movies there are times I dont switch on my subwoofer and let the speakers deal with the base spectrum. The highs and the mids are exceptional and the segregation of notes is something that needs to heard to be believed. These speakers have blown open the price barrier and they need to be given a standing ovation for the way they have been a game changer.

Guys do yourself a favour and listen to these speakers before you decide on blowing up 40k+ on other floor-standers- you are going to thank me (oh BTW I would accept crates of beer as a vote of thanks ) :)

Cheers !
