Sometimes I get pixellation on Ten HD, Discovery and Movies now. Clarity is not like how it was when they launched it. Is any one having this issue?

if you see in the above offering, only Travel, Discovery, Ten HD and Mtunes offer more HD content and even these show non HD content for a good part. I had initially tried for a couple of months and have since reverted back to SD STB. Very disappointed with Hathway and their pricing model.

Typical response from hathway. Everytime when you call they say end of the month. This is happening since last May when they were supposed to launch HD. Now samething is being repeated for new HD channels.
No problems with my HD box as far as pixellation goes. Lacking 5.1 surround sound though, the cable guy says that an optical audio out cable will bring out the 5.1 channels, but I am skeptical...

I am using optical cable and I get 5.1 audio.

I just cannot understand why Hathway has different channel lists for different parts of the country. I can understand local language channels not being available but there are so many non-local channels missing in Bangalore which are available in Mumbai. Nat Geo Adventure and FX just to name a couple.
Also, specifically to Bangalore subscribers, have you noticed that whenever a new channel is added, another one seems to be removed. This used to happen with Zee Trendz very often. It came and went 3 times in the space of about a year around 2010 and hasnt been around for a while now. I didnt care too much because it basically has reruns.
But when Comedy Central was added recently Bloomberg UTV and Big CBS Spark have been removed. I called up the guys at Hathway and as you'd expect they said they would "look into it" but nothing so far.
Has anyone else in any other city noticed this?

What is concerning me now is, do they have any capacity/bandwidth to add more HD channels? Is that the reason for non addition of more HD channels? They started HD services in November. It is more than 3 months and there is no new HD channel.
Removal of one SD channel to add other makes me worried that we may not see more HD channels on hathway.

There was UTV stars HD earlier when they launched HD services. They removed UTV starts and added Discovery. Removal of one channel to add one more has happened for HD too.

CNBC HD is a waste channel for me. So, I am actually paying huge amount for just 7HD channels

Can you tell me how you have made the connections to obtain 5.1surround sound from the STB? Currently, my hathway HD stb is connected to the Denon 1911 AVR thru HDMI,and the hdmi out takes the video signal to the projector. Not able to get audio thru the optical cable. I suspect the ARC on the HDMI still manages the audio from the STB?

I have connected HDMI out of STB to TV and optical out of STB to my home theater.
In that case, the only way I can get around this problem is to directly connect my projector with a hdmi cable to the sat/cbl slot of my avr.
Any denon enthusiasts out there with a better solution , not disturbing the current architecture where the HDMI cable from the STB goes to the sat/cbl slot on my denon and another hdmi cable connects the hdmi out from denon to the projector?

couple of days ago the cable guy gave me a demo box to play around for a few days. havent discussed the cost. are these guys still charging 6600 for the first year including the stb cost. There are of course very few hd channels. missing star and espn hd are the biggest irritants, no soaps also in hd for my wife, no cartoons for the kids. i wonder who the hell are they marketing this for?
The cable guy in my place (bg road) is quoting 5750 + 250 per month monthly rental for the SD channels. Is the one year free subscription only for the Hd Channels? Please someone confirm. If the one year subscription is only for few HD channels, it appears pretty expensive.

See hathway is providing direct connection then it is 6666 per year which includes both SD and HD channels. If if you are getting hathway signals thru a local cable operator then prices are according to your LCO.
I feel whatever hathway is charging for HD channels is exorbitant. I personally suggest not to go for it

I had called Mumbai Hathway office. They say it will be 3 to 4 more months before we can see any new HD channels.
I have asked for a refund from my cable operator. Lets see what happens.
The problem with DTH is internal wiring and things are uncertain over there as well.

Really sad to hear about that. Hope u get ur money back. Also, any idea if the PVR is available? It is shown on their website :: hathw@y :: but I dont think it has been marketed

That is a SD PVR. HD PVR is not available yet
