I think Star Cricket and ESPN will take some time. Probably a long time. They are very adamant it seems and asking for lot of money. Hathway HD box doesn't have recording. But they have a USB port which is disabled now. In the future with software update, they may enable it and provide recording feature like Dish TV is providing.

Yep, 16 channels it is, now HD on Hathway in Bangalore ! Great picture quality, awesome sound folks. It pays to be patient .......

@gopichandpai You must be quite glad that you didnt return the box now that Star channels have been added.

I wonder how they are coping with this in terms of bandwidth availability. Hope they dont remove some SD channels...

I spoke to one of the senior technical person on Hathway. He told me, if they remove one analogue channel, it can accommodate 8 HD channels!

So after the digitization is complete, we can see many SD and HD channels on cable networks.

1 analogue channel can make room for 8 HD channels! Wow! I didnt think that digitization would make such a big difference. I wonder when this process will start in non-metro cities.

I stay in Mulund-mumbai.i have hathway HD Box.Two days back they have added Star channels in HD package but have stopped Times nowHD, travel XD Hd..Dont understand why? Anybody from Mumbai..? facing the same problem.. ?

I have a Philips 32PF7321 TV (not a full HD TV). It accepts up to 1080i.
I have put the STB in 1080i mode.

On changing channels it is taking 5 sec for the picture to appear. The banner in the bottom appears almost immediately, and sound appears after a little delay, but video is the problem. This is in HDMI mode. If I put the TV in AV mode picture appears in about 3 sec. And in normal TV mode (RF - coaxial) the delay is about 2 sec.

I have posed this question in a separate thread but got no clues. One mate said it takes 4 sec on his AirTel STB.

If it the Q of handshake between the TV & the STB, my TV Setup doesn't have any feature to set this.

Anyone among you who have connected through HDMI their Hathway or any other HD STB, have any comments?

I have not seen how long it takes but there is a delay in picture to appear. I guess it is similar to changing the resolution on computer monitor. It goes blank and reappears after a second or so when the resolution is increased.

I don't think you can do anything about this.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
