I have not seen how long it takes but there is a delay in picture to appear. I guess it is similar to changing the resolution on computer monitor. It goes blank and reappears after a second or so when the resolution is increased.
I don't think you can do anything about this.
Hello Gopi..
Wanted to add something in ur post..
Today Local Cable Operator guy..came to my house to give me the DEMO..
In my Area Hathway ..is not providing the direct signals.
Demo Started.
1) SD channels looks more or less ok .. I can see less blurred images without STB ( SD or HD Both ...He gave me the demo of Both )
Just for the Info. I ve used all DTH connections available.. Airtel / Dish / Tata
2) Now the point comes when u change the channel ...why it takes time to show you the screen and why therz a delay in audio.
Info :- When analogue channels are being converted in to Digital ones ..they take time ... Now it depends upon the processing speed of STB ..how much time it takes. Currently they are using very low speed processors.
Again it depends on below mentioned points :-
a) How is the analogue signal quality.
b) What is the threshold of analogue signal
c) If it crosses the threshold, it means it can not be converted. / Lot of distortion or Noise. In this case STB will show - Set Top Box is unable to recieve any signal - Kindly contact ur Cable operator.
d) Signal is coming but distorted- In this case STB will convert the signal But in HD channels ..it will take more time.
In the areas where Hathway is having Direct Customers ...Ther PQ is far better than the areas wher Local Cable operators are giving Last Mile Connections.
STB's work is to amplify the signals and then finally convert them.
Finally it depends on the signal wot u are getting through your co axial cable.
