Hathway goes HD in Bangalore??

Can someone tell me what is the software version of your HD STB? Mine is 103.

103 as well. Just noticed that the status is Software Download: Idle. Isnt it generally Aborted?

I too find the watermark distracting in HD. I doubt there is anyway to get rid of it. I'm grateful cuz atleast its not a colored logo, which would be horrible. Fingers crossed it doesnt happen.

If the status is aborted it means there is no software available for download. When the status is 'idle', it means there is going to be a new software around the corner. My HD stb status is idle since 2 months now and no new software got updated.

Folks request all the HD subscribers call hathway and build some pressure to remove or at least resize and relocate the watermark in HD channels. Please share the e-mail and phone number of hathway Bangalore office if you have, let's all call and e-mail them tomorrow. Lets build some pressure. What say?

Talked to my local cable operator today. He assures me that teethe watermark will be resized and moved in 2 days, and that they had discussed the issue in a meeting yesterday.

Take this with a pinch of salt and let's keep our fingers crossed.
Meanwhile please do call you operator and ask him to escalate.

Okay, some good news folks. Hathway watermark on the HD channels has now moved to the bottom right corner of the screen . It is still larger than the SD channel watermark, but at least not as distracting as it was earlier.

It looks like the extreme delay for the video to appear, that used to occur while changing to a few HD channels, like History HD or ESPN HD, has gone. Has anyone else noticed the same?

Yep, you are right, delay is present but considerably reduced compared to before.
Also, noticed that the program details are loaded quickly instead of displaying that the information is not available. Also scrollable in some channels to display upcoming programming info as well.

But the EPG for most of the HD channels is still absent, except for the current and next show. Wonder if its such a hard fix considering it was fine when HD was first started.

Also noticed that Big CBS Prime has been removed. What's going on? Looks like they slowly remove channels week after week and don't add any apart from some silly local/religious channels. No news about the Ten channels either. There are some huge football matches coming up in the next few months and I won't forgive them if I miss it.

Another thing, for the last few weeks, some HD channels show the No Signal message but when we swap channels and return, its fine. There is no problem with signal as I can see other channels as well as analog channels. Has anyone else got this?

I've seen a few banners on channels recently which warn about the March 31, 2013 deadline but can it prevent the disputes between operators and networks which lead to blackout of certain channels?

It won't prevent the disputes between operators and channels but at least they can't give the excuse that they don't have bandwidth for the channels. There are so many channels which are with hathway and they are provided in other places like Mumbai and Delhi. But, they can't provide all the channels here in Bangalore because they need bandwidth to show all the South Indian channels here in Bangalore. Whenever they get the bandwidth, they are using it to add either regional or local or religious channels now.
