As for channels In hyd 20 HD channels are broadcasted including trace sports
Missing HD channels
TEN HD, UTV STARS & M TUNES.

Which really surprised me coz I was very excited to see Star movies, Movies now etc. movie channels in 5.1 but was disheartened..:-(

No..I called up Hathway Customer care on their toll free number and that guy was ignorant about it.So he transfered my query to technical person and he called me up & informed me that only these channels which I mentioned have dolby sound.Even I was surprised to know it...
But,My Denon AVR 1712 and Wharfedale HT DX1 will be installed tomorrow.So, then after I will check & update.
But anybody from Mumbai having Hathway Hd box plz update & give your feedback..

My LG32" LCD doesn't have ARC facility..How should i connect my Hathway HD box to Denon AVR 1713 ? If i connect the SPDIF to AVR and HDMI STB>HDMI in AVR, will I have to keep watching on HT speakers only? How will i get sound from TV if AVR is off?

You need connect HDMI to TV and spdif to AVR. If the AVR is off, you will get the sound on TV. If I am not wrong, if your AVR is on, you will get the sound from both the TV and AVR. In this instance you need to turn the TV volume to zero.

Else you can plug in Hathway hdmi out ito AVR and take the HDMI out of the avr to tv. Audio is followed to dvr with 5.1 audio and video signal will be bypassed to tv

Today I have connected Denon 1713 AVR to STB-Hathway HD box as follows:
HDMI from STB to TV and from Hathway STB- SPDIF-optical cable to Denon optical input..Now problem is that on every channel I get sound from center speaker only..Don't know where it went wrong..? Plz help..Otherwise every unit is working fine..DVD player,Laptop etc gives perfect 5.1 sound..On Denon while selecting CBL/SAT button it shows dolby symbol and displays Prologic CBL..

Update: I forgot to change Audio from PCM to Dolby in Hathway Hd Box..After changing it to Dolby it gives 5.1 sound but when I change it Dolby, sound from TV gets muted.. :-( So, every time I wish to see movie/HD Channel on AVR I have to change audio setting in Hathway HD box..Is it So..? plz share your experience..

I guess it is because your TV doesn't support dolby. What you can do is it to connect HDMI output of STB to your AVR and output of AVR to TV using HDMI.

You need to pay Rs4500/-. This includes HD box and 1 year HD channels free(Current ones + any new HD channels which will be added in the future). You need to pay separately for the SD channels. Monthly charges for SD channels vary depending on your cable operator and the area.

I stay in the Kundalahalli area and my LCO kept saying HD is not available and expensive, till I paid him for the SD box (he charged 1250) and got it installed .. he then said if I wanted I could get it from the ulsoor office and he cant do it himself ...

it cost me 4500 along with ID/Address proof and some following up for 3 days ... I collected the HD box from them myself and they refunded 750 for the SD box ... so I lost 500 bucks on the SD box ..

confirming what FM gopichandpai said, 4500 includes HD channels for 1 year .. i have to continue to pay the LCO his 250 bucks each month

Today My Hathway Cable Operator told me that in next month I need to pay him Rs 600 for new set top box. I already have a SD set top box from Hathway. He said I still have to pay 600 for new STB as it will be digital. Is it true? He said with that new STB I can use broadband too. I don't want to use hathway broadband as I already have BSNL broadband. Anybody else facing this issue?
