Hathway goes HD in Bangalore??

Anyone knows why is TV9 (English) News missing for the past 1 month? Or have they moved the channel number?

On SD box it was in the 250+ channel list.

Guys those who are using Hathway HD, how's the picture quality? Is it comparable with DTH operators like AirTel or Tata Sky?

Yes, it is as good as HD channels provided by any DTH.

The reshuffling of almost every major channel has become a real pain. And I dont even watch a lot of TV! I wonder how other people, esp older persons are dealing with this.

Has anyone inquired about this with Hathway people?

FX and Movies OK channels added in Bangalore (cant remember the channel nos...)

Also, it appears that the pixellation/disturbance issues with the new Nat Geo channels has been fixed. They have been looking good for the last few days.

The HD channels have completely disappeared from the channels list in Bangalore, since today morning!

Is anyone else facing the same?

HD channels are available for me. --Bellandur Area. Check if your 1 year HD subscription period is over. If not then you can check with your LCO.

I think this is only affecting me.

I was able to contact my Hathway office today morning, who took my smart card number and said they "have given the command" to start HD. Its been over 5 hours and still nothing.

Its been fixed. It looks like my HD subscription was mistakenly cut short even though I had it renewed for a year, back in April.

The strange thing was that when the subscription ended that time, the channels were visible in the list and the message was "Service is blocked" But this time, all the HD channels were completely missing from the EPG/list. That was what got me worried.

Does any one get 'Submit CAF' form notice in your screen? Any Idea what is that? I'm from bangalore.

Yes we are getting the message on screen often these days. My cable operator asked me to fill the Customer Application Form(CAF). He took my address, contact number, card number and the box number.

Gopi, did you provide any specific channel preferences or did you provide any other information apart from the usual details?

Only the usual details. Initially my cable operator was saying packages will be ready by mid November but now he is saying some time in December or in January it will be ready. He was saying the highest package will have about 320-350 SD channels but he was not sure about the cost of the package. He is not sure how many HD channels will be added in the future.

does Hathway HD STB come with HDMI cable? my cable operator is saying HDMI cable is not part of the package....kindly share on this...

I did get a HDMI cable along with my HD STB. It was rather short but it was sufficient for me. I believe there is a newer model of the STB after I got mine (named 200 or something). I'm not sure if the package contents are the same for this one...

hello folks,

got my HD STB upgraded over the weekend...20 HD channels

paid 4.3k for STB+1yr HD subscription...but the 2 HBO channels are not activated...

so far everything going good...

quick question...i saw there are 2 USB ports in the back of the STB...do these work for playing movies/music thru the STB? if yes please share details on how to use this feature...

There are 26 HD channels. 2 of which are HBO channels. You need to pay Rs 69/month separately for them. Rs 69 includes both the channels.

USB port is not enabled; at least for the box which I have.

From last few months iam facing a issue whenever i start the box in morning or after a gap of few hours, iam getting an error "Please insert your card" but under one minute it is settling down everything is ok. This is happening only after the box is powered off for few hours.
Any comments to solve this issue.

I have cleaned the box and card but still its the same.My box is the ist model black color box

26 HD channels?!?!? ...i am getting only 20

i will check with the local cable guy...

and Rs.69/month for 2 channels...is it worth?

Movies keep repeating and there is no 5.1 surround sound yet. So I guess it is not worth the money.
