No I didnt pay extra, nor do I intend to.

Right now, the status has changed to HD 1/2 and SD 3/4 being blocked. Seems like they are trying to strike a balance between denying the channels and allowing us to watch the Indian teams matches.

Sad to see this at a time when broadcasters and channels are so optimistic about the future of TV in India.

Only Star Sports 1 SD and Star Sports 2 SD is available for HD subscribers. Others have to pay extra for these channels.

Am getting Star Sports 1 on my SD box and Star Sports 1 & 2 in SD on my HD set top box. I suspect that this will last till tomorrow's T20 final.

Yeah I'm sure all the channels will be blocked after the final.

I'm not considering going to DTH as it would be a quite a hassle to do all the hardware changes necessary. I'm reserving my decision until the al-a-carte/package selection comes into force. Need to see how much the prices are going to change.

Just out of curiosity, do you or anyone you know subscribe to any of the 4-5 premium channels that are currently available in India either on cable or DTH? I dont know a single person who does or is even remotely interested in doing so.

Is SD channels still expands laterally even in HD STB?

Mastii was available yesterday in Bangalore. These days you never know, anything can happen and channel might become a la carte any time. They call it advantage of digitization but they actually create problems for customers.

If you are into sports, just want to remind you that, Star Sports 1, 2, 3, 4, Star Sports HD1 and HD2 are a la carte only. For 4 SD channels, the price is around Rs70(Rs 15+ Tax for each channel) and Rs 206 for HD1 and HD2.
If you are not into sports, then Hathway has 2 new packages. One costs Rs1200 for one year with about 16 HD channels and Rs1750 for 1 year with 26 HD channels.

Yesterday, I was getting Star Sport 1,2 & 4 (all SD) but not 3. Both HD channels still blocked.
It looks like they still havent made up their minds whether or not to provide us with the channels.
