Mrp of 2605 V2 is Rs. 13,900 per unit ( 27,800 / pair )

discount offered - 26 % off on MRP + 4 % for freight and home delivery from kolkata to bangalore address.

Landing cost for me in Blr - 21,395 / pair. Not sure if the offer is still open . You can talk to Adarsh in their Blr office.

i have the 2605 V1, and recently bought the centre of the same series but V2. The sales guy told me there is no difference in the 2 versions except cosmetic. the V2 has a "aluminium look" facia. i say aluminium look cos its just paint and not metal sheet.

No it's not correct.I will try to get V1's literature and will post the difference.
Those sales people at kolkata are untrained people, not worthy of listening.

That is the problem with Sonodyne ... Their sales people are worthless. They need proper training as these are not regular consumer products, these are bought by people who know their game well. So a slight inconsistency in their words result in the "sell of the product" or "walk out of the showroom without buying".

i even emailed sonodyne on a good note while i asked for the quote stating that i will be more than happy to see them marketing their products and provide correct info and people will be more than happy to buy a desi brand and dump imports for their products are good at the given price point and would be happy to see an indian company proving its worth.

they dint give a s*** bout it. bad to see good products getting sold to only who knows about them rest mass is even unaware of the brand.. just the lack of proper marketing and few dumb sales guys..

Someone recently on the forum (thatguy) called Sonodyne asking if they still sell theiir Preamps. the guy on the line after a barrage of useless questions tried selling their mixer in lieu of a preamp. :ohyeah::ohyeah:

thatguy said:
Called up the Bangalore office and asked them about the preamp (SP 203r). The guy at the other end told me it has been discontinued and tried to sell me a mixer (IIRC, 2311 or some number like that). When I told him I wanted a preamp and not a mixer, he started asking question like 'What are you going to use it for?' and 'How many devices do you want to connect?'

The Problem however is not isolated with Sonodyne alone. It's with most retail companies here in India.
The Sales reps/Customer Support go through practically no training and have no idea what they sell.

-----------------
a couple of years ago i walked into Nokia service center and explained I had a problem with my Nokia N70 (under warranty) The problem was that the keypad light had stopped functioning. to my suprise the Customer support executive with confidence told me that they need to do a Software upgrade and it will be taken care of. Well after trying to reason out with the CSE which was futile I gave them my phone and asked them to do a upgrade if that would solve the problem ....
Infact I heard her tell some other customers the same thing "" uprade "" for various other problems

Anyway
Surprise Surprise ... After 20 odd minutes the CSE comes up to me and sheepishly tells me the software upgrade did not work and I would have to leave the phone with them for a couple of days.
------------------

Indian companies and Retail establishments need to seriously impart training to they counter staff.
End consumers seem to know a lot more about a specific product that they want to buy than the companies own staff

Any idea about the price of PSS 18BB

I was surprised to see that this 18" SW cannot go below 35Hz (+-3dB)

Thats the case with almost all PA Subwoofers. The emphasis is on high sensitivity and output as opposed to low fq response.
PA subs go really loud.

Here's another one from Wharfedale ... Pretty affordable .

Wharfedale Pro EVP-X18PB 600W Powered Subwoofer Speaker - PA Subwoofers - Buy online at the guaranteed lowest price in India - BAJAAO - India - BAJAO - Buy and Review Musical Instruments, Pro Audio, Studio, P.A. Audio Equipment

The difference is that the V2 has got 6.5 inch woofers instead of 6 inches (v1).
Also, the literature says that the V1 has fabric dome tweeters but V2 has silk dome tweeters. V2 weighs 500gms more i.e.22Kgs. to 21.5Kgs(v1).

Was at Croma today (Eva Mall, Brigade Road, Bangalore). They have devoted a small space for Sonodyne products. They are still in the process of setting it up and did not have anyone who could answer the questions. But they had the speakers, amplifier (SIA310) and the subwoofers on display.

Planning to visit them again. Hoping this is for the long run and not a temp display.
