Its raining vintage TTs

This package arrived last week, direct from Germany. This has been on my wishlist for quite a few years, and finally I have it:yahoo:. All thanks:signthankspin: to fm Sachin, who made this possible:) Sachin, you are great

Package was quickly transported home and opened. Very thorough double-boxed packing. The great Indian customs and postal authorities packed the inner box upside down after inspection:mad: but nothing untoward happened due to the very good packing.

Inspector Tom came around to check the package and gave his approval.

All accessories, including the very rare large hole stacking spindle and owners manual are there. I also got two headshells, so swapping carts is easy.

As good as new inside with a onboard phonostage. Note the famous Pabst motor.

I shall now retire and come back tonight to complete the story. Meanwhile, fms are free to play the guessing game. I owe a round of beer to the first one who makes the correct identification.

Have a nice day:D

Lovely!!

Its funny but the pets at home always want to get involved when something arrives or is opened up. Our little cat, Nikki was all over the box when my Garrard 401 arrived home.

Sachin, superb execution very nice professional plinth build.

analogadikt, looks like nice well built turntable (miraphon 22h) Papst motors are smoothest running. If they are three phase, nothing like it.

- miraphon

sachin,
Thin veeners (some also are self adhesive) are not easily available. Atleast not in and around Mumbai. I think in south there are some dealers. Better to get thin formica and paste in such a way that joints are not visible (Like back of the plinth). Gloss or Mat paint finish would also look good.
Regards.

jls001 has guessed correctly and Hiten is also very close.

The turntable is indeed an Elac Miracord 50H. This is a changer while the Miraphon 22H is the single play verion of the same.

Some more photographs to complete the story.

Made DIN to RCA adaptor.

Set up with a Stanton 681EEE.

Very good playback quality. Loads of PRAT.

I love this Elac:)

Regards,

Sachin,
I had the same model. It was stunning to look at and sounded quite nice too. I was not a keen enthusiast of Idler wheel TTs at that time. Let me see if I can get it back..

My Lenco L78 TT with 6 layered Plinth and DIY tonearm. Still pending some work to complete the project. Many thanks to Sandeep and Sachin to get the TT.

Raghu.

Raghu this looks Awesome, could you post your impressions in the change in the sound ?
Thats one nifty tonearm you have !! it looks like a 12" ?

Also is it the tonearm wire you have taken out of the Tonearm slot on the Baseplate ?

what a stunning tonearm!!

Any plans to fill the left over holes, sand and paint the lenco chassis. That would make your TT absolutely stunning.
