The mapping and sequence of demos of various components will be done in advance so there are no hassles and time loss. Like Spiro suggested, we can follow this pattern:

1)
One budget DAC / CDP
One or two entry level amps
All Bookshelves available

2)
One midrange DAC/ CDP
One or two mid level amps
All Floorstanders available

3)
Pick up one or two of the speaker+amp combos and do a source quality comparison between DACs / CDPs.

Expensive bookshelves can however be used in category (2).

Post the event, we will post reviews here, so that the fellow members can benefit out of it.

High end gear may be purely for enjoying purpose. Ofcourse, those who can afford them can plan accordingly.

Just my suggestion. More thoughts welcome :)
 
My simple thoughts are we can plan the meet correctly & make the exact use of time available.
If we have more systems,its will be fun,but due to time limit,we may not evaluate them correctly & hurry up.

There is no point is repeating the same thing again & again, sensible people with common sense are aware of the 'Agenda' of our meet, so lets leave it there. We should learn to avoid answering senseless questions being asked again & again.

Meanwhile let us get the 2 tracks finalised at the earliest so that we can have these available to us on CD, FLAC format well in advance.

It appears that we are also nearing our target audience of around 25 so most likely we should start the formalities of collecting the amount from those confirmed.

just returned from Yogi MidTown to check out the conference room & to decide the Menu for Buffet/Refreshments.

Rates for Meals/Refreshments will be confirmed by tomorrow & Santy will update us all accordingly.
Tariff for Rooms also will be given by Santy.

Plan is to assemble by 0900-0930 hours at the premises, as will take an hour or so to cart the gears to the hall & do the set-ups. So ideally we should start by 1100 am with the 1st set-up.

I am okay with 18th December and will definetely join. Please suggest if i can get my Audio Gear for some kind of audition. I can get my DIY TL speakers with Sony TA-AX44 Vintage amp & Pioneer DVD.
 
I think Santy had mentioned about a good CDP, I don't know whether Marantz SA 15 S1 qualifies as a good source, but, if interested, can bring it along.

11th is the date finalised. You may get your DIY Speakers & the Pioneer DVD Player, if you have it modded.

Thanks Denom, 11th is fine with me. I will get my DIY TL speakers and Pioneer DVD player for the event. Hope i have some amplifiers at the venue to hook it up. If not then i dont mind getting my Sony TA-AX 44. Pls. advise.

The event costing was rechecked ,and coming slightly higher TO ACCOMDATE CERTAIN CONTAIGENCIES

1) There will be couple of guests oh honors like Mr. Bajaj . They are giving their time on Sunday. We should not charge them
2) Ditto about dealers persons. Yes he is going to benefit in long term , but again he is sending his persons in peak sales day , along with their equipment also the location is farway from main Mumbai.
3) We need to accommodate these guests in costing
4) Good hotels are known to add some special expenses at last time , we need to prepare for that.
5) Some miscellaneous expenses like printing expense , also planning to arrnge a taxi for Mr. Bajaj ( he is quiet old and may not able to sit through whole event.
6) Donations THANKS VINAY FOR DONATIONS. IS ANYONE ELSE IS READY?Vinay and all what we will do as we are working together that we will pool the money and do the costing at the end of event. We will able to return a good portion to everyone .
7) Preferably I do not want to make it a FREE event , this is our first time and FREE things are not valued. So we will try to reduce our load , do all costing , and will return Vinay his amount , or use it as he wishes.
8) We want to decrees set up time as low as possible and idea is the next set up will be ready when first is playing. That is why I am proposing standard speaker wires IF EVERYONE IS OK WE WILL BUY 4 pairs ( 8 strands of 3 Meters each ) =24 meters will try to accommodate some cost here . It will SAVE OUR TIME.

Considering all this I propose costing should be Rs 700 ,In fact Rs 750 as RS 700 will neck to neck cover 20 Members and 5 guests in minimum 25 members turnout .

EVERYONES VIEWS PLEASE.

OF COURSE we will try to reduce final price and recover some amount

Bit late to join in, was on holiday last week. I would also like to join in! Would be great to catch up again with you all who were there in our Pune meet, and also other fellow members from Mumbai.

Also, not around on 18th, so please lets keep the date to 11th :)

PS - I have a new addition to my set up from the last Pune meet. Now my source is [iTunes + SnoicStudio Amarra plugin] --USB--> Benchmark DAC1. Would like to see how much a difference Amarra makes and how it stacks up to standalone CD players.
