LED or LCD or PLASMA

D6000 is available for 69K at letsbuy.com. The samsung website price is the official MRP, the street price is always lower.

As for 2D-3D conversion, I think it does have it. Can any members comment on this please ??????

2D only models you have Samsung D5500 and Sony EX520. Both come in 40".

oh!! i'm sorry didn't know :P
Can you suggest me that should I go for Samsung D5500 / D6000 or Sony EX520/720? because many people have told me that 3d is just for bragging etc.

Yes, if you are not into 3D then go for either Sammy D5500 or Sony EX520. And the 3D performance of D6000/Sony EX720 is not great so you will not enjoy 3D so much with these sets.

:-)
Sony EX520 would be cheaper in BKK I would be looking for that.
Thanks a lot avmaxfan, you helped a lot.

Others, please pour in your suggestions too :-)
Not looking for a 3D TV, so just suggest some 40 inchers. maybe ill create a poll :D

If you are not looking for a 3d TV , look for SONY 40 CX 520 CCFL LCD. IMO best picture , non reflective panel and skype options. :)

yes, but remember Cx520 doesnot support Ntfs drives, nor the current (torrent) popular sd/hd video formats...if u want max media compatibility, nothing beats current gen samsung or Lg tv's!

so do the sammy's support mkv avi everything? any model in sony supports mkv/avi? I am pressing for Sony, because dad is a Sony fan :P He won't settle for anything else lol!

donot make tv buying decision just on playing formats, no tv will be able to play all formats, codecs etc.this feature become redundant if you buy a Bluray player (or realise that tv isnot playing everything and then buy a media player),

i'm a Sony 2011 Fhd Lcd Tv owner myself cx42(which perhaps has the best Sony tv usb video media support for this year),but still find the usb playback against my other samsung tv almost pathetic! Though the sony cx42 supports ntfs & reads/plays sd/hd avi's,mp4 & mkv,(a great feat for sony) but it doesn't read subs in any format, doesn't play .dts audio track, nor have any custom zoom & many mp4 or mkv videos plays corrupted. P.q is however very good & that's the silver lining & saving grace here. Nowadays, almost everybody(spl the budget conscious indian consumers) seems to want a single piece solution for all their video playing needs & save money on paying for extra h/w m.p,hence the importance of usb playability & support on their tv..but sony is quite cringy here & seems to defy the trend.I have No such complaint against Sony tv,but their tv usb compatibility really sucks!I would have been a much happier Sony tv owner,if they indeed followed the trend!

I just wrote this to make the would be Sony tv owners aware of the issues & give appropriate weight to their preferences & make a correct informed decision!

so leaving alone the usb thingy, whose picture quality is better? sony or samsung?

Also, can the samsungs play srt files? that would be SO COOL!

" YES " Most Definitely..srt displayed!...P.Q is very subjective...some like Samsung & some Sony....i returned a samsung 40Lcd & brought a Sony. There is difference between them,it all depends on what u prefer..Samsung imo offers a very dynamic rich dazzling type of picture out of the box(which many prefer) & also much more configurable picture settings in comparative series models...& add to it a very good inbuilt media player at a more vfm price. Sony has has perhaps the Better natural picture, the Best Panels & that Golden monicker of tag "Sony"!

So it's all upto u, but whatever, demo tv's b4 u buy anything..that's Most Imp!

u r comparing a Pdp with a led....hats of to you!
& if u cannot believe a Samsung tv user(me) for usb video format compatibility who uses all the different video formats on allmost daily basis,...then there is no one who can make u believe the truth....allmost all (80%) of all the samsung tv,except the very high end "smart tv"& the very low end basic hd ready tv,..uses the same built in media player which plays allmost all the (torrent)video formats with subs effortlessly!

..btw sammy pdp & also lcd & led r the best vfm purchases...u need to read more in the forums here & also start actively demoing the tv's
