Am planning to buy ST30, V20 does not have a neo-PDP panel but electronics are indeed better. Looking to see if a friend can bring back a 40VT30 not in a hurry, apartment redo will take 2-3 months.

i think there is some confusion...........V series in the top of the line model and does have the neo pdp panels. To clarify here are the models with neo pdp panels:

2010 : VT20, V20, G20, S20
2011 : VT30, GT30, ST30

i used the compare thing on samsung site but could find any difference!

The 5500 and 5900 are smart tvs which have more internet capability ,perhaps apps can be installed.

Well unless you opt for series 7 and above tvs from samsung all other models do come with a panel lottery.
You will mostly find AMVA panels in samsung D5000/D5500 which isn't really that bad,but neverthless inferior to the SPVA panel.

No idea what panels are present in newer models 5003/5900 ,if you want to know ask the sale rep for the remote and during stand by press info,menu,mute,power and you will see a menu that comes up more info here on what to look for http://www.hifivision.com/televisio...eed-samsung-spva-sq01-panel-2.html#post248709
