Congratulations...you got a great deal.... We have many plasma lovers on this forum, I am sure, they will be happy as you have joined plasma family, the best picture quality technology in the price range... And by the way.. you got a great deal...

Yes... 1 very very important information.

Bought it through Bajaj Finance @ 0%

They have a extended warranty option, i opted for 2 additional years @ Rs.4,700/-

I find it really awesome....

Congrats for going big for less:clapping:. good pictures.
Liked your tv base. Is it a custom made? seems it stores lots of gears.
Was that wall mount came free?

Yes its Custom Made:D, Electrical Points are also in there... just to keep wire clutters away from eye.....

Wall mount is free..... :ohyeah:

Just upgraded the the firmware, now when you switch on a plugged device its TV is Prompting to Do u want to change source.... i find it really useful...

You have got an awesome deal. Enjoy your gadget.

I am getting a similar deal from ezone. But i am little skeptical about any plasma tv other than panasonic. I have a panasonic crt at home and im quite happy with it. But i want a much bigger screen and i have been apprehensive about LG plasmas with regard to picture quality and image retention.

I have been looking for the GT50 but Rajesh Trading said they havent had stocks in 3 months. The LG offer is under consideration now and the deal is very tempting. My major criteria is clarity and depth of the picture. How does it compare with a panasonic or a samsung?

^I had a brief look at 60PA6500 yesterday at Phoenix Mall, Pune.
What attracted me was the price - 83K - perhaps only for demo piece.

The picture quality is decent - nothing out of the world, but that is my opinion. I could see pixelation and low level of skin detail, for instance. Perhaps settings were incorrect or something else.

Great price, nevertheless.

Hi avijeet,

Congrats on your new purchase ...
I haven't seen how LG PA6500 performed. If you can give your review, it would be great. How does it perform in playing movies (both HD and SD) in comparison with other TVs ?

Nothing beats Panasonic ST series - absolute visual nirvana when you play HD regardless video settings. Even standard SD broadcast appear far better than any LCD or LED. If you can lay your hands on the ST50 go for it.

I have checked out all three brands. Samsung series 8 is good, LG PA6500 is value for money as it comes without 3D and smart TV, PQ is ok for the price and the size, which is impressive. Only hitch is where u r getting it from, as ezone have a bad reputation of taking money and not delivering in time.

Regarding LG check the amazon site for reviews of the same and you will find out that it can be calibrated to give a very good PQ.
:)

It replaced LG 3D LED 7600 55" ..... performance is really good....
Black is black not grey in plasma... that's the big +

Thanks Avijeet !!! It looks like you have few more TV sets along with your PA6500 and you would be best person to judge how TVs performed.

When I was shopping for my own TV (last June/July), I had visited LG showroom with a spring in my steps. Sadly, the salesmen were totally disinterested in selling the plasma model (forget the model number, but it was 60"). They were insisting that I should go for LM6690 or such Cinema 3D models - constantly harping on near zero bezel, cinema experience, 3D experience, wide angle of view, etc. They reluctantly started the plasma model - I was not letting them know any preference other than "I will get larger size for less money" reasoning. The TV was showing washed out picture and not good sharpness. When I said so, they said "I told you so, Sir!".

So I cannot comment much other than what I remember then. But the salesman at e-Zone was telling me "if you want good PQ, go for plasma" but he did not have anything at that time other than a 42". He told me to come back after a week. By that time, I had purchased the 50ST50.

Yes I have few flat tv @ home... And I am fond of plasma for its black levels .... Natural colors and less judder..... led @80% Contrast is plasma's 100% contrast..... So during side 2 side comparison Plasma may score on 1st impression.... But u have to ask yourself r u gonna watch led @ 100% contrast ????

Salesman will always push for new products which has premium price and more margin....

My LED LG 7600 55" was horrible judder problem apart from that vertical banding and hot spots and corner bleeding.... Huh... Biggest turnoff ...

M happy with 60" plasma...... It's my personal choice ...

Thanks Avijeet. The reason for asking for your review is that I haven't seen how LG plasma performed. By the way, I have ST50 and I am enjoying the same like you are with your LG plasma.

From the photo, I can see the color more towards natural side.

Missed this thread.

Congrats Avijeet.

I checked this model at eZone. Nice. It can be adjusted to get a very good picture. I asked the sales to switch Life Of Pi connected dedicatedly to a Panasonic to LG. Well balanced display. The colors on standard will be muted so try wide. Switch the HDMI to high for dark room and medium for lit room.

Did you try the pot modifications for black levels?
