Hi guys,
For a bit more than a year now i have a LG 60PA6500. I mostly do Xbox 360 gaming on it and sometimes a bit PS3. For all this time i was using HDMI, but recently with several games i noticed that i didn't think it looked good enough. So i did a test.
HDMI vs VGA
Winner clearly is VGA. I tested it for Red Dead Redemption, GTA V and so on and the picture quality is A LOT more crisp and clear than HDMI. HDMI also makes faces of characters, cars, buildings and so on...overly bright. No matter if i tone down contrast or brightness on the tv. VGA simply provides a much nicer picture to look at. Sadly...with all the available picture modes on this tv, i cannot select sharpness, colour or even advanced settings. So far the best picture is provided by the Vivid picture mode, but the sharpness is set to 30 and colour to 70, way too much for my liking. But again...i can't alter the sharpness, colour, advanced settings, tint and so on.
I assume there is no way to change that?
Also..i have nothing but problems trying to get the latest firmware on the tv. I went here:

Downloaded both firmware update and manual. It says i need to make a map called LG_DTV on a usb stick and put the firmware file in there. I do that,but when i put it into the tv...it doesn't ask to install anything, i just get the normal pictures, movies and music popup box.

Odd..cause the manual says i must put it into that folder. Either way...i tried both and it didn't work. I'm lost. I'm hoping the firmware update will let me alter settings when in VGA mode.
