has anyone bought 3bluerays for 17? I selected 3 movies (titles which are available under 17 ), but VAT shows zero for india?? (17 - VAT) or how is it? any idea???

I've bought a bunch too. There are some great movies on this offer.

Value Added Tax is refunded for non-EU shipments, therefore zero which is good right? The 3.23 promo off your item cost brings it to 17. The rest is postage.

Follow up :

today via my local post office, received the Lost TV series box set. No custom charges.:clapping:

Actually post office informed me to come and collect the package. The outer cardboard package was not in a good shape. Torn and taped, kind of crushed look. Was apprehensive to accept as had a doubt if the discs were intact; post office was willing to take it back and send to Amazon. Also the label on the package said total weight 2 kg but when weighed it showed only 1.5kg - this was done voluntarily by post office. Appreciate their assistance. Finally took a chance and accepted the package. Gave in writing to P.O. that all is in good order.
Opened the package and found all discs intact, no scratches, no missing discs, no cracks on the plastic covers..
This package was sent by Deutsche Post DHL, original delivery date was 05th December.

All in all, a good transaction at a bargain price.

This is not right, IMHO. For EU customers 17 is inclusive of tax, so for non-EU it should be 17-20% VAT. Amazon's system does not account it right. If anyone has time you can write to them, they may adjust it.

See it another way, for each sale to EU customer amazon gets 17-20%VAT, VAT being paid to the Govt. For Non-EU customer, Amazon is getting 17 full. I don't think they intended it this may. Why should the net sale to EU vs non-EU customer be different into Amazon's pocket.

Not exactly put although mostly correct. In the EU, goods, wares, services, etc., mudst be mentioned in terms of prices that is inclusive of VAT. So all website prices are inclusive of this. When an invoice is created, base price and VAT are separately shown. In the above case, 17 is inclusive of VAT, which is 14.17 base and the rest, VAT. Amazon always get paid the base amount. In case of EU customers, they collect 17 and pay 2.83 to government later. In case of non-eu customer, they show the government that the item was exported and they have not collected the VAT amount.

The T&C for the offer states that 17 is the price payable for 3 qualifying BD's irrespective of VAT registered status. Not sure whether that is a way around the above for Amazon UK?

I just received the package which is one day before the estimated delivery date. Actually it was delivered to my office, and I collected it from the dispatch section. Zero custom charged! :yahoo: Waiting for my next package for which the delivery date is 30/11.

I just saw the first of the blu rays (Pale rider) I bought in the offer 'The Western collection'. The quality of the transfer for such an old movie is superb, so one should go for it and this is from someone who is not a fan of the genre.

Pale Rider BD is a real enjoyment, Clint Eastwood at his usual classy self, excellent transfer, BTW this HD stuff has really made our habit a bit expensive, these days I just don't want to see anything SD, my eyes and ears ask everything HD
