I just ordered this . This is the first time I'm purchasing from amazon uk and I have never ordered anything from any international online site. Can someone tell me roughly how much would it eventually cost me ? any custom hassles I need to take care of ?

Repeating this post on the few active "movie" threads:

Amazon.com has started quoting the checkout price in INR. Amazon.com is offering two menthods of placing the order:

- place order in USD
- place order in INR

If you place the order in INR. the amount charged to CC will be in INR. This means that one does not have to pay the 3.5% forex charges.

But I observed that Amazon is charging a way higher exchange rate. For example, for trial purpose, I created the order. The Amazon exchange rate was USD 1 = INR 57.98 whereas today's (yesterday's) exchange rate is USD 1 = INR 54.43. So even with the 3.5% surcharge this is INR 56.34.

Hence, it is best to continue ordering in USD. Or else take a judgmental call at the time of ordering.

I think that reliance time out has some nice offers which are in fact better at times than buying from amazon. The box sets cant be matched but for 3D blu rays i see the price is better at times. I wish that 50% discount offer comes back at reliance! They have buy 2 get 1 free now, which is not that great for normal blu rays, good for 3D

Placed my first order on amazon uk. Interesting that my order total was 34.30 GBP and i was charged 35.31! I thought some shipping would be added but somehow the billing incorporated shipping in this only. Hope to get them with no customs. As it is ICICI charged 93 r to a pound, damn crooks.

Anyway, it is because the ordered price includes 20% VAT, which they deducts from the final price as your order is an export for them.. and add to it the shipping charges.. regarding ICICI, I think it is standard 3.5% extra charges then the official exchange rates for international spends.. so chill and enjoy your purchase..

BTW.. I went to landmark the other day.. there were few good offers in the stores.. specially in the disney section.. there are lot of "25% off" and "buy 1 get 1" offers, including BD.. I got the DVDs of Nemo+Mermaid and 3 BDs of Pirates of the carribean series.. so 3BD + the combo dvd pack .. 1700

At the above said site (All CD Online) , the dvd of Kahaani costs Rs 355 whereas i have bought the dvd from a store (shopping mall) at 125 rs in Trivandrum.

Thanks- yes i know about the 3.5% as have done many USD transactions but looking at the amount it comes to some 4.5% unless they have considered GBP at 90! Anyways as u said, will chill and hope the discs come with no customs!
BTW Will check out landmark too. I just wish reliance time out gets the super offer of BOGO on 3d back sometime. They had disney brand discs too - nothing from amazon can match that!

This was reduced to GBP 8.50 in the month of October, then raised again. I think if one wants to buy this box-set, he should wait and keep a track for a lower price.

I have Wanted & Kick-Ass (purchased individually and regretted), and I really liked them. Especially, Wanted was great to show off your HD setup.
