Nice set up mdharan! Do you have the TV feed in HD? or its the normal SD telecast. In fact, I would like to experiment myself - watching TV on the PJ, but all I have is a SD set top box, hence I am not confident if the image quality will be watchable or not. Needless to say, my laziness has only kept me lingering on these thoughts rather than experimenting. Hence your feedback will be valuable.

Thanks,
Saket

Congrats Murali, so we know where is the best theater in Erode!

Please get a sun HD connection and the IPL should be watched in HD in your massive projection. Its fantastic even on my 32' TV, you can imagine to watch in your Erode theater. I have linked it thro my Denon 1912 and Wafr diamond speakers. Watching HD Movies in this set up is great. Though customer support of sun HD is lousy, you get a chance to view tamil songs in HD and good stereo.

Hello rpanand25 !
Thank you, Sound quality is good, since the HT is 24x15.25x8.25 i have to pump up the volume to some what higher, i feel that it reduces a little bit quality of sound, But it is very good for movies. I watch only HD quality video songs in HT, it is very good.

Hello Saket !
Thank you, I use SUN HD to watch in HT, The SD quality channels is not that good for my size of projection i.e., 13 x 6.5 but it is excellent for HD channels,You can check it yourself the quality is good for watching or not.
Buy using IR repeater and splitter i can watch in my hall and HT,but only same channel in both ends but we can change the channels at both the ends buy using different remotes.

Hello Vivek!
Thank you, I use SUN HD to watch in HT,I use to watch sun music channel in HD and since it is in HD I use to watch chennai matches in my HT.

Hello Arvindrao15 !
Thankyou for your compliments.

Thankyou all once again'

Murali.

Murali check if your 1911 has pre-outs for your fronts and center, you can always add a power amp to get the db gain and not crank up the volume so much.

Hello Samrat, I will try to explain your queries,
When i Place the order for POP ceiling itself (55/- per Sq ft), I asked the person that he has to do double ceiling for me 4" above the POP ceiling that of by hanging additional railings to place the 6" boards of 4' x 2' size, which was 2 nos of 2" Thermocol placed on both the sides of 2" rigid Glass wool boards and these three were tied together to get a 6" board. These readied 6" boards were placed on the additional railings over the pop without giving a gap.
Regarding the side walls (6" Hallow Block wall plastered both sides) 18mm plywood was cut down to 3.5" strips and frames of 8.25' x 4' sizes were made and nailed the frames to the wall. To cut down the heat from the wall passing inside the room, I pasted 0.5" Thermocol on the wall throughout inside these frames with the help of fevicol, and i gave 1" space by pasting 2" stripes of 1" thermocol over the 0.5" on the wall and then 2" Glass wool rigid boards were cutdown to the sizes as required and pushed inside each separations firmly. (If you watch closely the 2nd photo you can see the strips of thermocool spacing to give empty space between wool and thermocool).By sealing the air gaps with help of fevicol in the 3.5" stripes will create a vacum inside each panel for aoustic effect.
Over the frame now i nailed 8 mm plywood. I read an article some where in the net for the acoustic design on concrete wall which now i can't get to give you a link.
And over the 8mm plywood, a 4' x 2' chip boards of 8mm with 6mm foam covered by jute fabric panels nailed on the plywood. Cost ?? sorry i didn't calculate separately.
Regarding the flooring i pasted floor mate sq.ft 18/- pasting cost 8/- per sq ft over the tiles which i have plastered earlier itself, for yourself you should not go for tiles flooring, Wooden flooring would be best.
Doors, Wooden flush doors with door closer, Cost ??
Windows 3 nos of 4' x 3' size UPVC make around 350/- per sq ft with dark cooling 6mm thick glass.
System setup in my signature itself..
I constructed a curved wall adjacent to the wall there is some space but no way inside.
I have provided 2 a/c points one side to the seating and one behind, but still now i didn't put the a/c's, I am using the HT in evenings only by opening the windows and doors, If you planned to use it all day A/c will be a must.

Regarding the pictures i have added some for your help..
Please feel free to ask your doubts any time..

Thank you,
Murali.

Hi Murli,
Thank you for your detail reply on my queries ...
Need to know some points too...
1. How is the roofing done with metal work...?? Did they made entire metal flaming supported from the terrace base or the frames resting on the Brick wall. If the Metal construction is constructed from the terrace base then how did u hide those metal pipes.

2. How you have done the wiring part? What about cables management?

3. What type of Thermocol you have used? Normal fragile thermocol or PVC type thermocol which is not breakable.

4. Any Pesticide treatment??

5. Any ideal position to make doors/windows?

6. Regarding HT rack.. any suggestion? I would like to see minimum wire visible.

7. Lightning on the False ceiling.. Ur advice..

8. You have advised for wooden floor.. did u mean wooden veneer or some thing else. Is is ok to put Thick Carpet covering total floor...

9. Can we get an exterior look of your room?

10. I would like to have roofing done by TATA color metal sheets.. Is it ok if i have hatch type roof.

11. Advantages of Projector compare to 55 inch LED tv?

Regards,
Samrat

Hello Samrat,
I just constructed 4 walls with 2 pillars on both sides to a height of 9.5 feet and the fabricators of the tress work people did the rest by placing 2 tress between the pillars and did the sheeting work and there is no need for metal pipes, the shed (HT) of mine on the terrace is 30feet x 16feet, and i will add the picture (external) afterwards.
The power supply wiring was done earlier at the time of my construction itself, for audio and video wiring i done them inside the wall paneling during carpenter's work. I have to provide some power supply wiring to the Sub's on both side's for 7.2 setup, i also done them inside the panel itself.
I placed my AVR to the side of seating area (pic 5) and BR player and the extreamer M player in front of the seating below leg room, I provided some 2" pvc pipes connecting AVR and BR and Mplayer to bring HDMI cables and power supply, I have not mixed the concealing
of power and HDMI it was done by separate piping.
If you plan carefully during construction itself you can conceal the wires.
I used only normal thermocol of 1/2" and 2" sizes.
Regarding pesticide treatment, I have done nothing but the plywood was dermite proof.
Regarding the Door's placement for new construction ask the expertise. Mine is 24' x 15.25' x 8.25' and my door's were already fixed during the construction itself, Windows i preferably placed one on both sides of the seating area and add'l one in the center of the room opp to entrance, Since no nearby neighbors i used open these windows during the evening with mosquito screen.
HT rack as said before on the side and front of the seating.
Regarding lighting its your choice, Yellow lighting on the side walls and white lighting on the ceiling and some blue led strip lighting on the POP ceiling was done by me.( all are LED's). In any way for HT you have to switch of all the lighting's except the foot lighting for the step to seating area.(1 Watt on both sides of mine)
Wooden floor ., the imported wooden flooring with different colours and designs are available, it is depending upon your speaker setup and the roomsize, thick matt is also one of the method to stop bouncing of the sound from the floor.
My roofing is TATA brown coloured curved type, you can see from inside from first photo of the thread.
Reg 55" TV and Proj: Adv:
1. Theater like movie experience
2. Full HD proj will give you nearby equivalent quality pictures to TV.
3. Size of the picture.
4. Ass ability : everybody can operate.
DIs Adv:
1. Proj : 230 - 350 Watts , 55" LED TV at max 170 watts (it will be less when you are not seeing 3D or if you are in eco mode).
2. Lamp life ( max 4000 hrs mine is 17000/- rs for me it may reach 4-5 years as if now)
3. Ass ability : everybody can't operate.
My Opinion : Proj is best if want to see movies & sports and HD Channels. For the Room size less than 16 feet 55" is Good.

Excellent HT :clapping:

Must be having a good time with your massive mini HT,
I am also planning some thing like this on seeing your HT, will you help me, if struck in the process. I may not go for this big boss due to thin pocket :ohyeah:

Hello Setty,
Thankyou for your compliments, sure you can get any help from the fellow FM's and myself reg your process.
By going thro various threads and HT models you would probably get a fare amount of ideas from them..
