Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:
I doubt the cheaper Sub $50 Android Sticks are optimal for serious HiFi A/V users and thats the reason they would be more Miss than Hit. They lack most of needed feature to be taken seriously as a replacement to Dune, WD Media Players etc. How many Sub $50 supports 1080p ?? Optical Out (We know how good the DAC most of decent Media players have!!) ?? Wifi performance ?? Cooling ?? Memory ?? Starting with a bad Android TV is like trying with an Al Cheapo Android Phone and then going back to BB/iPhone..
For this very reason I bought the Minix X7 and it justifies its cost as a medium long term investment due to its future supportability of the OS and Apps - something most of Smart TVs and even midrange Media Players lack.
I would say Android TV Box is in pretty infant stage, with few manufactures setting trends and standards so much that even revered Apps like XBMC are upping the Ante to have dedicated Builds for different Models.
Well, towards the I would be devil advocate, what $50, or $134, there are some uber looking premium Android Boxes which cost $299 but boast of Ultra HD/4K streaming already !!

I wouldn't spend more than 40$ on an android box since most of the devices are hit and miss. The reason I suggested mk808 is that h/w is lot more mature with huge community driven firmware development
