But how do you hook up this device to your WiFi router ? In all videos, the TV is connected to the internet as soon as this device is plugged in into the TV HDMI port. Don't you need to configure something to first connect this device to your WiFi router for accessing the internet ?

Yes, correct. These devices have android installed on it. Just like you connect your mobile to wifi, you need to connect this device to wifi.

My Panasonic LCD TV is not "WiFi Ready". Will these kind of devices still work on it ?

This device has nothing to do with your TV specifications. Only requirement is your TV should have an HDMI port. This device plugs into HDMI. The device has built in wifi. When you turn on the device, you get android home screen. Go to settings-->Wifi to see your home wifi and connect to it after entering the password.

Netflix working for anyone else on android? I had the previous version installed on my Note 2 and it worked fine. Though I only used it once and that too for less than a minute as it was just for trial purpose. Now after the update the app keeps giving me error saying "Netflix not available. Try later -7"

Deleted the app completely and reinstalled and still the same error. It's working fine on the ipad and 360 though. Anyone else having this issue? Or is it just me?

Yesterday around 9:30PM it worked for me.

Only if I can find something really cheap and reliable. Currently considering getting the hdmi cable for the note 2. Unlike my ipad, I rarely use the note 2. So if I can find the hdmi cables for real cheap, that would be my first choice for now.

So, I got this for using netflix in my office. MHL Micro USB to HDMI Adapter Cable for SAMSUNG GALAXY: Amazon.in: Electronics

Works great. Though it's not charging the note 2 while its in use. It does charge it if I turn of the screen. But couldn't find a way to turn off the Note 2's screen while using this cable. I'm more than certain that if the screen is off, the charger will be able to atleast hold note's charge if not charge it further. But even if it doesn't charge it, I can live with it until I finally settle on a STB or some android tv.

For me all of them proved helpful similarly excellent. I was using & try out for last 30 days or so and even that proved helpful completely with the ps3. I have yet to pay for any of the solutions too.

It seems for some reason PS3 works great with all these DNS servers. Go with unlocator. Worked as well as any other DNS provider I've tried and is currently free as its in beta.

Just upgraded to the latest firmware in the afternoon it took some 10 odd minutes also couple of reboots were there. Post which everything is working fine as of now. Will test the unit out on the weekend.

Due to some issue my netflix app in the TV is not working, it does not load at all, was wanting to try out the same. Guess would need to wait as i do not know what the issue is.

It seems for some reason PS3 works great with all these DNS servers. Go with unlocator. Worked as well as any other DNS provider I've tried and is currently free as its in beta.

I don't have a PS3, but after whatever i have heard i am interested in trying the same out to see if PS3 is able to do a better job than the wd tv live on the same network settings.

By the way i am getting a Sony S5100 bluray player that is coming with the latest version of pre installed. Let's see how the performance of netflix is on the Sony as the reviews say its pretty good.

Not sure if this is shared before. I found this site Movies - Moreflicks.com where you can search for TV Shows and Movies on Netflix, Crackle, Vudu, Hulu, BBC Iplayer, Fox and iTunes.

If you are looking for a TV Show/Movie and wondering in which Netflix region it is available, this site will come in very handy.

I can confirm today that netflix performance on Sony is better than WD live. Just got my Sony BDP S5100 yesterday and i setup netflix on the same . I am able to view movies in 720p HD and at times it is aso going to 1080p. My WD tv live never gave such high output and always kept shuffling between 384SD to 480SD.

On the same settings, DNS and internet connection the Sony performance better. Also i get the 3D movies option now which i never got earlier on my wd tv live.

So switching to sony PS3 or BDP is definitely worth the effort as it performs better than other players i tried.

I miss my ps3

Anyone with an Apple TV knows how it performs with netflix? Don't really want to buy a ps3 again or ps4 for now. Apple TV will work great with my iTunes music too so hoping it'll be the end all solution for my media needs. But if it performs more on the lines of xbox than ps3 for netflix, it might not be as good a value anymore.

I finally made netflix work on my Chromecast, and am quite happy with the results. It reaches 720p within a few minutes, and stays there unless I pause or stop the video. Buffering is somewhat variable - mostly there is no buffering at all, but occasionally it will buffer every few minutes. This may have to do with the fact that Chromecast only works on 2.4 GHz wifi which is prone to interference. My expectations are low though, and I am happy it works at all.
