Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:)

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

me too, you can use my profile ID.

Looking at VPN options now, as i want to start using WD again, wish there was some way to share the Vpn accounts too.

I doubt coz DNS entries would be different for different people.

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

which connection are these ? What is the costing for them ?:

maniac if u want a fast connection in Mumbai you could check out Fivenet... They have a 10Mbps unlimited plan & the rates vary from area to area... My area it was 12k/yr when I got it a few months ago... Blazing fast (streams 1080p youtube videos effortlessly) & they even cache torrent & youtube data so most of the time when u access youtube or download anything from torrent you get 40-70Mbps speed instead of 10Mbps... Max I have seen is 80-85Mbps but it is very very rare... See attached photo

Ohh man, I envy you!! Wish this connection is available in NCR also.
Airtel sucks because of their FUP plans...And there are no other good providers available :(

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

Yesterday I streamed the movie "hunter" over my 20mbps connection.
All the panning shots in the movie went for a toss. Netflix is supposed to smoothen the content for motion sickness and the stream.
It may be be bearable on a laptop but not on a 50 inch tv:mad:

What do you mean by "panning shots went for a toss" I recently streamed "A good day to die hard" via WD TV Live and I was able to stream full movie on 1080p, all action scenes played flawlessly ....and this is on a 47" TV I am talking about.

Airtel does not suck as such, only the FUB does, else the service is ok, and best part is I get full 8mbps on 8mbps connection, which somethimes is not true on other ISPs

yeah, that's true Airtel internet is good on their service! We guys (me and my 2 friends) earlier had 4 Mbps 150GB plan, but we disconnected it because Airtel suddenly increased rental with Rs. 300. And That time I thought Reliance 4 Mbps Thunder plan without FUP would be available, but there is no Reliance wireline connection in our area. Then we went on to take Hathway 1 Mbps without FUP plan for 3 months just to try and it proved a big mistake.
There were frequent connection drops for hours on Hathway connection, at least 20 times during last 3 months. And one thing to note with Hathway is, it seems if they claim 1 Mbps connection; that means it's including download and upload speed; I mean I got max. 110 Kbps download and max. 18 Kbps upload speed as I noticed!!
I again thought Reliance might be available, but it didn't happen.
Now we have taken same Airtel 8 Mbps connection as you have.

Hi buddy,
I am also planning to go for fivenet.Today,I have inquired at their office & they offered me same plan of Rs.12000 per year for 10 mbps speed. What is your advice..? Do you face any disconnection or drop in speed or bad service ? Is the bandwidth shared or dedicated..? At present I am using MTNL 2 mbps Express Unlimited with a FUP of 150 gb and paying 2000 per mpnth..But for Netflix I wish to go for fivenet..Plz advice..

What I meant was that any panning either vertical or lateral was with too much breakups on my st50.
I streamed movies even with my galaxy note 2. Never faced this issue. The same issue with hd version of the movie " The Raid".
I don't know whether it is because of my dell laptop. I think I too should go for wdtv or roku.

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

Thanks Sam.

I too use Airtel 8 Mbps with 60gb FUP, comes to around 1500 Rs.

BTW, I couldnt find mediahint in the official chrome extensions, but found Hola which is equally good. They also have an option for switching between US and UK regions.

How did you play the content, i have watched many movies and tv series on my 58" tv using WD tv never faced such issues. It's always been good. Netflix adjusts the quality of the stream depending on the internet bandwidth. On connections where speed is not stable you would see it changing constantly.

Thanks Sam.

Its there in the link i provided from where you can directly click and install, i found media hunt to be good, Hola i have not tried yet.

Next project is to search for a unblock service which is cheap and best for netflix.

lol ...well I didnt think that much, but yes I opted for the best avatar available for me ... :D ... Netflix does not provide much icons to choose from, only 8,9 are there and you cannot upload your own. I wanted to have my own avatar that I use every where, but I had to settle with what ever was there.... :-)

watching south park after a long long time :) this is good. Thanks again Sam

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

Today, I tried one more stuff.
I opened the Bravia Internet Video Icon on my Sony TV and it took some time to load the menu.
Earlier the menu contained only Local Sony Entertainment program menu along with one more icon of YouTube only.
But after I did the VPN settings in my Router... BINGO !!
TV's Internet menu eventually appeared with more icons such as NetFlix, HuluPlus, Amazon Instant Video, Free Hollywood Movies & TV Shows, NHL GameCenter, Pandora Radio, Slacker etc.
So it seems to happen because of US VPN settings in router that made the Sony TV software updated with these icons according to the region.

I activated the NetFlix in my Sony TV and it works great. However subtitles aren't available because TV's Netflix App doesn't have that facility.

So now with same profile, I can watch NetFlix directly in TV as well. However navigation is much easier when we connect laptop to TV via HDMI.

Well Sam we have a problem, looks like the profile opyion foes not work on devices. Tried netflix on my tab 2 today , after installing hola tried the brwser but it was giving unsupported message. Tried playing through tye netflix appnand it is getting into your default profile and not giving any option to choose any other profile .

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

That is very good. I too will change my routers manual setting for dns and see if netflix and other services are activated by my panasonic. I hope that PQ would be much better if netflix is streamed directly to tv rather than going via a laptop.

No sure about TAB but profile works on my WD TV, @technobhatt what about you when you configured on your TV, were you able to choose a profile ..??

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

hi friends,
Are you all sharing the same VPN settings ? was curious to know that VPN allows sharing or not ?

No I wasn't able to choose the profile specifically, but I used the profile login for activating Netflix app on TV.
While configuring NetFlix on Sony TV, I was first asked to register my TV on Bravia Internet Services and then put a code shown in TV at following URL
https://internet.sony.tv/netflix

After this was done; I was asked to visit Netflix and activate it by placing a code shown in TV at this URL .. https://movies.netflix.com/Activate

Here are the complete instructions for Configuring NetFlix on Sony TV: http://www.nerdsonsite.com/blog/2013/03/01/how-to-enable-netflix-on-your-sony-bravia-tv
