Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:
^^ Wow , so I should consider myself lucky or what ..
.... I was able to create all four profiles ....
.....
BTW I was wondering, all three members have taken a free month account, I wonder would anyone be even chipping in, once this account free period expires ...
Yes, you're really lucky!! You have successfully spread a virus. Another friend of mine activated the Netflix trial today.
Well, I'll be happy to chip in as partner with you, in case Dushie or Sud are out; as it's gonna be cheaper for me
One more update:-
Today, I tried to activate Netflix on my 2 friends' Nokia Lumia 720 and Google Nexus 4 respectively and both experiments were successful
hyeah:
Nokia Lumia 720: When I first try to locate Netflix app in phone, it wasn't available in the windows store and even search results were not displaying any results.
Then I changed the default 'Country Name' under settings from India to United States and reboot the phone. And after connecting the phone through Wifi network (on which US VPN is enabled), I could see that lot of new options and apps were unlocked in the phone. Then I tried to search 'Netflix' app in windows store and it was successfully installed.
Then I just activated the app in browser by proving the code shown in phone. However, one need to enter user-id password each time to login to netflix app in Lumia.
Google Nexus 4: It was little tricky process. Google Nexus phone deliberately asks for entering one's Google Account details so that phone can be later used for app download and installation using Google Play Store.
Initially, my friend logged into it using his gmail id. Then we went to Google Play and try to search Netflix app. It locates the app, but throws an error saying 'this app is not available in your country' and thus we're not able to install it.
Later I realized that it was due to fact that Google always traces the location details through Google account; hence, despite VPN setup on Wifi network, we couldn't install Netflix. Because my friend's gmail account was set up as India as its country name. (and also we need to take care of not choosing the location tracing option during initial setup in Nexus). Then I changed the country in Google account from India to United States and did a factory reset of phone.
After doing all this, again logged in and Bingo!! Now we found the Netflix app and installed and got it working. Here we don't need to activate the device; instead it just simply works by logging in using Netflix user-id password.
