Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:)

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

@technobhatt for subtitles , I think you need to select a title that you want to watch, on the next page or under details of that title , there is a audio setting section where you need to enable subtitles. It did work for me. PITA is when you renter Netflix to resume watching the title. You recheck the subtitles. not sure if there is a option to make it permanent .

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

No I wasn't able to choose the profile specifically, but I used the profile login for activating Netflix app on TV.
While configuring NetFlix on Sony TV, I was first asked to register my TV on Bravia Internet Services and then put a code shown in TV at following URL
https://internet.sony.tv/netflix

After this was done; I was asked to visit Netflix and activate it by placing a code shown in TV at this URL .. https://movies.netflix.com/Activate

Here are the complete instructions for Configuring NetFlix on Sony TV: http://www.nerdsonsite.com/blog/2013/03/01/how-to-enable-netflix-on-your-sony-bravia-tv

So this means I presume that the device follows, your online profile, if you register that device logged in to your online profile. I still have not got my WD TV back from my bro, but I think this is what it means. Will test it on my WD once its back. Thanks for sharing this techno ... :-)

You're welcome :-)
I just checked that the option of activating a device comes under the Netflix Account Settings and there is a sign out option as well. So if somebody sign-out we have to activate the device again. However we can't see the list of all the activated devices.

This option does not work, i just took a temp account for testing , i deactivated my WDtv from my old account, for new account it just asked for the username and password. Once i entered that,it is showing the default profile, which is yours Sam, i could see flashpoint and prison break in recently watched.

Now we need to figure out how to go about this.

As discussed over phone, i did a reset of all accounts on wdtv, post rester of the wdtv when i start netflix it is giving only 2 options, first is member sign in and second says start your 1 month free trial. There is no option to activate the device.
If i use the username and pass it would go back to default profile and show your watched activity.

Lets wait for my WD TV, i will experiment on it and see if I can find a solution and understand how this works .......

@technobhatt you do have something to share on this...... and BTW I clicked on "Signout on all devices" from Dushie's profile while troubleshooting for him, so I think you might want to check out if your TV still works with the profile, else you might have to reactivate the device.

I dont think it would make any difference for him, as once the device is activated, you just need to put your user and pass and it works. please check and confirm.

I checked it, there is really no option of enabling subtitles on NetFlix app in my Sony TV. I checked even foreign titles (like Hindi movie Lagaan, which has default English subtitles in Netflix) doesn't have any subtitle appearing.

No problem occurred with NetFlix app on my Sony TV. Initially when I started Netflix, a message appeared 'netwrok error', but I simply refreshed it and everything worked fine as usual. I didn't have to reactivate Netflix for TV.
And when I checked the profile activity, it seems both my TV and laptop activities are in sync.
I'm not sure how it works in Tab or Phone. I'll try to do something on my friends' Google Nexus or Nokia Lumia phones tomorrow and see how it goes.
Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of smart phones and still living life on my 4 year old Nokia 6220 Classic.

First-up - Thanks Sam9s for sharing this.

I tried the DNS trial solution and am now on one month netflix trial. However I am not getting HD streaming. I have airtel 8mbps and speedtest confirms that speed is no issue. I have tried with my win7 laptop, XBMC-Ubutu HTPC and another win7 desktop but i dont see HD. I have also set my streamin pref to Best on netflix, tired diff browsers . I have waited for it to pick up the resolution but though i do see a marginal improvement in quality but the HD icon on netflix never lights up. BTW I am picking the HD for PC content. Are you folks getting HD qulaity?

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

technobhatt, not sure bhai..it is showing on my hx850

@avink see this What's Up With Netflix's 1080p Titles?

I too have 8mbps..and I do see many titles with super HD logo..have tried couple of them..as someone said earlier , resolution gradually increases and at times you do see better picture.. but its just not consistent and not as good as BD quality.

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

thanks sanro - Does it mean the HD logo will only light up @ 1080 and not at 720..since it never lit up for me.

If possible, could you please post a picture of your settings in HX850 where subtitle option is coming.
When I play the video, there are options like Sound, Picture, Account, Restart only and I checked each details but no subtitle option.
Sound Option: says to choose between external speaker and TV speaker.
Picture Option: goes to default TV picture settings
Account: it just gives a prompt with yes or no options - 'Are you sure, you wanna disconnect Netflix'

I think I got the problem, the free account is the 8 USD one and hence only two devices can be activated at one time. I already had one device activated (my WD TV) and second one I guess technobhatt did, so dushie was not able to active his device.

I recently got an error that already two devices are streaming and I can not stream, and I should go to settings page to see other plans available if I need to have more then 2 streams at one time.

Guys on free account only ywo accounts can be activated, so till the time we have a free account I have to deactivate two profiles. Since Dushie came first I will give him preference. So I have to deactivate technobhatt and sud98 for now.

If you want to continue right now we have to purchase the 12 USD account. Else we can do this on 15 July as well when the free account ends.

And anyhow the purpose to distribute this account was to test if members are satisfied and that the streaming works, which I guess we all did.

Friends let me know if you want to purchase the 12 USD account, in order to have all 4 people streaming.

@ Dushie ..... for you......... I have deactivated the other two profiles, and now only you and me exists ...... please now try to activate the device and see if that works .......

Waiting for response from other members ....

regards
Sammy

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

Ok I was able to integrate the Netflix (with firefox browser) as an option in XBMC. I created a Program Addon using the Advanced launcher and gave the path for the Firefox browser to launch. Then I made the netflix as the home page in Firefox and enabled the netflix plugin and automatic login for netflix.

Made changes in the XBMC for the Aeon MQ3 skin by adding the Favorites menu and renamed it to Netflix. So I can now launch the Netflix site on the Firefox browser from XBMC and when I close the browser I get back to the XBMC. Still finding a way to stream the movies on Firefox to play in HD on launch rather than after some time. So far unsuccessful.

I checked Netflix after you deactivated my profile.
I am no more able to stream on my TV as it threw an error saying 'there is a problem with your account' and then it asked to reactivate the device with new code.
For reactivating I need to login to the browser, however the earlier user id- password don't work anymore; I guess you might have changed it to give chance to activate Dushie's device.
Let's see if Dushie can activate his device now.

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

Thanks, for the update sam, i have not tested the same, i am game with starting the subscription so everyone can watch the same, guys let Sam know when you want to kick off the subscription.Till now i am satisfied with the performance.

When i did testing last time, the best resolution i could hit was 720 HD. Thats what showed up on the screen, but it keeps switching back and forth to 480 SD. But the PQ is really good, and i am happy with the same.

yes technobhatt, that true, I apologies, actually only two people are allowed on a free 8 USD plan/account so I had to deactivate, else I was not able to play, (and Dusite was not able to activate the device) and since Dushie chipped in first I had to give him the preference .....hope you and sud dont mind.

If you want to continue, let me know and we can purchase the account, infact we dont have to purchase the account immediately, as it still will run free till 15 July, but i have to change it to 12 USD streaming plan and for that I need confirmation that we all would purchase the same on 15th JULY.

^^ Yes even with me it sometimes switches between 480p and 720p but most of the time its on 720p and the best part is even when it comes to 480p its just a minor degrade from 720p, which is very acceptable ...... this is on a 47" TV I am talking about via WD TV Live 2013.

@Dushie, I would like you to try and activate the device so that we can confirm that the problem was with number of connections and not something else.

My WD TV should be back today in all probability, so today evening we can sit and troubleshoot and try to activate your device if for any reason you still cannot activate it ....

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

Very nice thread. I browsed the content on Netflix.com along with my wife, hoping that we can avoid DTH subscription and just get a fast internet connection, VPN and Netflix account.

But, sadly we could not find much content that we can watch beyond the first month.
There were couple of Hindi movies and then several English ones and TV series (English again).

So, I am wondering if people on this thread are mostly watching English movies with family or some other content?

How soon do they put new movies on Netflix?

Re: Netflix, my experience...amazing service!!! can be accessed from INDIA as well..:

^^ Yes people here are only watching English content and that too more inclined towards English TV Series ....
