new subwoofer help

Usually with all avr (denon also but not 4800) setting crossover to speaker means all frequency below that frequency is sent to subwoofer.
But this 4800 has something strange. If we set speakers a crossover, all frequency below it is completely wiped off. In order to overcome this I set main speaker to full range.
Now doing so will hurt speaker so-
DIstribution sets a curve to the LFE. -20DB curve almost completely wipes off the LFE from the main speakers (even to all speakers depending on the setting) and then routes those frequency to subwoofer. This way even at loud volumes main speakers wont be hurt.

Now this subwoofer extraction LPF
or i use dts hd or mix for movies as well. Also i sat distribution to -20db this setting has appeared and saw this first time
This will copy those frequencies from the main speaker to the woofer.
Its clearly mentioned in the bottom of the screen.
If its set to 40 hz, all frequency below 40hz is copied from main speaker to woofer. I find it using at 100 gives a good result.
Ideally setting this at the crossover point of the main speaker low end spec range should work best. E.g say your speaker spec says 50hz to 20khz. Then setting this at 50hz works good ideally
But depending on room and other stuffs this result varies and it is usually above the spec range of the speaker. E.g. same like above case instead of 50hz setting it to 60hz or above gets better. Need to trial and error and tailor it to personal taste

the guy from whom i bought he says set lfe+mains and speaker cross at 120 and others say use lfe only. i dont know what to do i spent this much and getting nothing. I was better with dali otpcion 2 only they were set full range and were damn punchy best without any subwoofer needed. Also plz note that when i run auddeseey it sets dali to full range.

Just make a video of all the settings you have done on the screen and share it... I'm sure members will be able to help better. If you still wish to continue without doing so likeliness of your issue being resolved is very low.
Another option is to get in touch with HT installers in Delhi and ask them to set it up for you.

As for placement the wall which has the clock on it is better suited to mount the TV. You'll need to be little careful when opening the cabinet.

You wanted Deep bass and you're getting it no? Only after buying the subwoofer you say that you also need midbass. Without knowing the settings how can the forum members help you?
From what I see, forum members put a lot of effort inorder to guide you and you don't listen to them mostly and jump from one to another. Then, how will your issue get resolved?

i tried lfe+mains and cross at 120 110 90 80 and lfe only also with above frequencies. The thing is midbass like 70 to 80hz is not loud or audible on my chair but when i sit just in front of woofer cone its deep bass but i cant hear it on my chair thats it. I TRIED EVERY SETTING what all members said i am not satisfied.

This is what Audyssey has to say:

Audyssey LabsDecember 15, 2011 05:25
Hi Mark,

Audyssey doesn't set Large and Small. Denon does. They use 40 Hz as the decision point and so if the speaker was measured to roll off there (or a little below due to wall proximity) then Denon sets it to Large. We disagree because then no signal goes to the subwoofer. So, yes, after the calibration is finished go ahead and set it to Small. That way the content below the crossover point will be sent to the sub where the MultEQ filters have 8x higher resolution.

You might be sitting at the bass null region. Try moving the chair. Find the null using rew and post here. Forum members can decode and advise you. Before that, pl;ease take a video of the settings and post here.
Also try sealed configuration by plugging in all the ports.

when i placed it for very first time it was exactly middle of tv unit there was 100% null i was like wtf. later i treid to move it and good deep bass. i mean loud bass is good but that too only when i set subwoofer level in svs app at -10db else ... even denon has set sub level at +12db . Also when i did play bass loop till 60hz was deep in my chair then for 70 and 80 i had to move my face a little to right side then it was good bass. so i think acoustic foam will do some thing. i have not unboxed yet umik1 i will do it today. is it possible that rew or dirac live can make the sub sound best wherever i place it or null can still be there?

how do i find null thats aslo a big question as i know nothing about rew will have watch videos. The wall on which wall clock is there it will be best i think to wallmount then easliy i can place dali speakers left right at equal distance as there is no gate to left or right. But this wall specific gets seepage issues when it rains heavily will it affect my tv i guess?
