It was through your thread, I came to know about the combo, thanks for writing an excellent review.
I wanted to buy a Norge amp for quite some time, and after auditioning all three contender amps, combo was the clear winner.
I visited Norge factory on 28th Jan, and coincidentally met FM cifrancis, you were there on 28th?
Focals are very detailed and transparent, they are around two months old, and need longer running in period due to the rigid polyglass material. Norge is neutral, so they together expose the quality of source bluntly, as of now I use PS3, pioneer DVD player, and Sony CD walkman as source, will need to buy a dedicated CD player.
I will write a detailed review about pairing with Focals.

I have zeroed down to wharfedale 10.2 diamonds and norge 2060 amp,will they jell or should go with norge mosfet reference 2000???????

The basic Norge 1000 is slightly warm in the midrange and relatively forgiving with mp3. Out of the box the bass is a little lean which improved on replacing the 4 filter capacitors from 4700 micro farad capacitors to 10000 microfarad nichicons muse.

On auditioning, I felt Norge 2000 handles the lower end of the spectrum (bass) slightly better than 1000.

Though there is no limit for bettering the sound reproduction, and all the Norge amps are wonderful and VFM products, my personal opinion, is to buy the power amp from Norge and pair it with Pass B1 preamp, you will need to slightly increase the budget.
I recently had a chance to listen to the Pass B1 + Norge power amp pairing, and I found it more musical, airy and engaging. The power amp is really impressive, and Pass B1 produces a clean and neutral output .
These are my personal listening experiences. Your ears are the best judge.

I have the B1 have made a bypass switch to my Norge 1000 so it bypasses the inbuilt per. Now I can use three preamps to the 1000 power amp.
1. Norge preamplifier with burr brown opamps
2. OPA 627 DIY preamp
3. Pass B1
Will do a blind testing soon.

Hi Audiodoc,
I also have similar plans, once I get the Pass B1 kit, I plant to put it in the Norge preamp cabinet.
FM Omishra has suggested me to keep both the preamps working, with R-Core powering both and have two separate / switchable outs.
Which makes sense as we could always enjoy the comparison.
Your blind testing is gonna be interesting. Awaiting results.

I am using chord carnival silverscreen cables but any good heavy gauge copper cable will do just fine. Better to invest in a better DAC instead.

Biwiring dosen't add anything audible to me though Bi amping is regarded better.
