Yes finally i got my stereo amp in place, i got norge 2060 and paired it with wharfedale diamonds 10.2 due to my tight budget, my god what a sound!!! It really produces great amplified music.norge i got from eastern electronics at 10k+ with remote control and diamonds at 22k from designeraudio. Thanks to every forum members once again for helping me select the system.

Congrats its a good budget setup. You can connect a subwoofer in two ways. There is an audio line out from norge, you can connect it to a powered sub. Speaker out can also be connected to the sub. If you have a budget of around 18k to 25k you can get a decent sub of brands like polk, velodyne, klipsch, kef, wharfedale etc

The "PHONES" socket on the Norge 2060 will accommodate a " (6.35 mm) stereo jack - found on high-end headphones. However most headphones usually come with the more common 3.5 mm stereo jack. The below pic from wikipedia shows 2.5 mm mono, 3.5 mm mono, 3.5 mm stereo and 6.35 mm stereo jacks.

Just pick whichever headphones you like and, if necessary, purchase a 6.35 mm to 3.5 mm adapter jack (like the one in the image below).

Hi,
After listening to good music from my system, i noticed that there is some distortion and harshness.This happens when i play music through my fm radio which is inbuilt in my sony dvd player and not when playing any audio cds,also when playing music through my laptop same problem ! I have windows media player on my laptop. Do i need to invest in any more audio equipment??

FM audio is equivalent to 68 kbps mp3 so there is no comparison to an audio CD. the laptop is sounding bad because of the low grade DAC inside the laptop. Get a usb DAC from FiiO or an external sound card and it will shine.

Ive got a norge 2060 which controls a pair of Disk Smith floorstanders and it does bring them to life with a variety of music! The only thing that gets to me is the treble control - when on tone defeat , the treble lacks life.....so you have got to set it to 1oclock to kind of balance the bass and treble over the spectrum. I've observed this laid back treble with a variety of speakers connected to the 2060 and almost all norge amps.

I have got the norge with remote hence there is no tone defeat knob on my set,inplace of that there is the remote sensor,but yes i will try to figure out which is best setting for treble and bass and maybe i will hear it good.

If you can DIY you can install a tone defeat knob or an entire preamplifier into the amp. I have the E7 which is good however the E10 is known to be better. Wolfsons 8740 DAC chips used in them.
