Onkyo ht-s3400 pros & cons

1. What about installation/demo from onkyo if we buy from dhruv?
2. What is warranty process for Onkyo ? Do their engineer visits our premises OR we send equi to their service station?

Pretty good question.. I asked Mr Dhruv abt this but he said that as per company policy they dont send out anyone for Demos.. Not sure what is correct over here .. Anyways I dont think it would be so complex that we all would not be able to set it up.. After this forum is full of geniuses who I am sure would help us our..

Warranty is not store dependant.. So it should be good in entire India.


Incidentally I checked out the TNT courier site and it is saying that is was dispatched today from Kanpur.. Pretty strange.. I would have expected it to show as being dispatched on an earlier date a said by Mr Dhruv

Incidentally any of the existing users of Onkyo in NCR - have you purchased any speaker stands for the satellites ?? Any place where we can get the same in NCR ?

Dont worry. This is standard problem which you may encounter when buying online. Generally, sellers use the pre-printed AWB slips or use computerized system interface provided by TNT etc to schedule a pickup. So, though they get AWB no. which sometimes they update as tracking number for buyers, but courier company pickup is generally delayed - end of day/next day or sometimes more delayed due to holidays.

Also, sometimes, even when they pickup products, their system updates happen during night hours, so status is reflected next day.

I have been using my system for few weeks and love it - have watched all the movies which i recorded on TS HD+ :ohyeah:. Today it was turn of "the tourist".
Already plugged my WD player and TS HD+ into Onkyo HT-S3400. Still need to plugin my Wii.

Fixed wires on walls but used nails to hang speakers - not cleanest of ways to do it - but couldn't wait any longer to buy brackets -
Any suggestion, will love it buy it.
 
At last the shipment detail is updated in TNT, its showing that 'Shipment Received At Origin Depot' on 8/10. Also status is showing as 'exception'. Need to check with TNT. Shipment is delayed may be because of the holidays. I may have to wait 5 more days :(

I am getting the same message on the site.. Did you try calling up TNT call centre and get some update on when it can reach us ?


Update -- Just had a word with TNT courier... Apparently they dont ship forward the package unless and until they have a sufficient amount of cargo to be shipped from a centre.. This is pathetic... Must tell Mr Dhruv to be careful of such courier companies

Here is the story, TNT delivered it on Saturday, I have installed them on Sunday,so far good .however unit becomes hot soon.
What I have observed:
1>Seller has included a vat bill inside the package and the package was opened (not sure why)
2>No HDMI cable is provided as communicated.Seller told he will give later upon availability.
3>Main thing, No Onkyo INDIA Warranty card is there.Folks who got the shipment earlier,do you have the same situation?Please reply.


Sound clarity is awsome.My NX720 has some issue to connect with optical cable.will sort it out.

Did you get the Onkyo India warranty card?It is not there inside the pack.

Now that you have mentioned it , it is pretty strange that he has not sent out any warranty card.. Though I understand VAT paid bill serves as a warranty card but I would definitely be more comfortable if I am given a bill as well.

Guys who have purchased from store , did you get any warranty card ?
 
hey nothing to worry seller on ebay is authorized dealer of kanpur u.p and he will give you vat invoice with cst and vat no when you place an order and product will cover 1 year warranty. ok

Sorry to be doubting but from where were you able to see the dealer's name as authorized dealer ? The name is Jewel Orchid . Isn't it ?
 
I got 3400 delivered today. As others pointed out..

1. No HDMI Cable in the package
2. No warranty card given along with the package.
3. Installation was simple and sound is OK.
I have some questions on the setup. will consolidate and ask the forum members later.

Just had a word with Mr Dhruv and Onkyo customer care

1) He would be shipping the HDMI cable in a day or two

2 ) Onkyo does not give out warranty card . The VAT paid bill acts as the warranty card. If some one in the forum who has purchased from the store can confirm on this , it would be great

Incidently, I had some issue with my sub. I contacted Santosh - and he asked one of his service guys to call me. When service guy called up, he asked details on bill no., dealer name etc. I told him i bought it from Jewels orchid. He said some engineer will visit me in 48 hours.

though after fiddling with wires, I was able to fix the issue. So called them again not to send anybody.

So, I assume that there is no issue with Dhruv's dealership and no requirement of any warranty card also.

That is good.. so you are saying that even when you told the service centre that your purchase was from kanpur , they entertained you in Gurgaon ??

Incidentally I called up the Onkyo helpline yesterday and they confirmed that they dont send warranty cards.. The VAT paid bill serves as a warranty card.
 
I got the lowest quote of 25k from Pune. Can anyone recommend shop with lower quote?

Ended up with Maharashtra Electronics, Camp for 24k. Those folks are lethargic, but after Mr. Dhruv disappeared from Onkyo's website, I felt it was a safe bet to continue with Maharashtra as they were authorized.
