Onkyo ht-s3400 pros & cons

Called Dhruv today. He said he will give bill with vat cst etc.. so this is very much valid.
He says they are authorized dealers for Onkyo so no issues in terms of warranty.

He promised to delier new piece and in case of any issues he is ready to take it back and send another system.

I am planning to place order in ebay. Anyone interested??

Finally did 3.1 setup of my onkyo Ht-S3400 which i bought from ebay.hyeah: will set remaining two surround speakers later, as it involves some wiring efforts.

So far the performance has been amazing, though i am sure need to do some manual settings based on room size. Watched "Avatar" and Transporter 2 (which i had recorded from Star moviesHD in HD format on my tata sky HD+) - best part was i was not reading sub-titles - as sound was so clear...:yahoo:
I am still learning about setting and all.

I think my Tata sky HD+ is sending DTS signals via HDMI to AV receiver...as red coloured symbol was ON on display - not sure about exact meaning though.

Setup FM channels also - and they also sounded lot better.

I have set it up on Bed room which is about 15x20ft, little bigger than general recommended for this size. TV is not exactly set nr center of wall, due to door passage, so I am sure I am missing on right settings - will try to locate some good settings for speakers.

I will keep you guys updated on my experiments with this ... any help will be appreciated.

Just set it up today - more experiments to come. Few others have also bought from same dealer, so rest be assured about any warranty issues and bad customer experience.

AFAIK Tatasky ouputs DD and not DTS.

hyeah: i stand corrected. But only HD channels provide this not the regular Sd content channel.

Just enquired from the authorized dealer in CR park , New Delhi ( Mr Arora).. The prices is 24000 which sounds pretty decent to me.. Complimentary HDMI cable is also included in this price.

Btw I don't think this would be a good place to ask but is anyone having any service experience for Onkyo products ?? Is it cheap and reasonable or do they rip you off with expensive spares ??

Mr Dhruv had promised to send me the hdmi cable and the bill within a week, then he sent me mail saying that due to Diwali rush it might be delayed a bit - a very nice gesture I must say - finally both the bill and the HDMI cable arrived today. I must say the whole thing was done very professionally, full marks for that to him

Booked Onkyo HTS 3400 in Modern World ( Domlur ) yesterday. Final price 25k. No freebies. The had no stock. I was told that i would be getting it today ( Oct 25th ) or max tomorrow ( Oct 26th ). Hope they keep up the word .

ohh...or you should have waited for another 1-2 months... may be around x-mas or new year, the same offer would have come. These offers are promoted by ebay and not dhruv, so I hope you get some freebies from him.
