I contacted Onkyo India regarding the online purchase. They are not agreeing with the warranty through online purchase. They are suggesting to buy directly from authorised dealer. I am planning to buy from Best O Fine Systems. But the price is 25,000/-

There is no HDMI cable in the package as jimmzbond had said and neither is there a bill.

Guys this is very tempting. I had chalked up a plan to build HT around my floor standers. I was about to audition the Energy RC-mini centre speaker (new one worth Rs. 20k) and to buy an AVR followed by a sub and finally the surrounds. But I realize its a long way to go as I need to save a lot of money. Ofcourse it would be certainly better but I am losing patience and this HTIB is really tempting.

Just asking a silly question. What would happen if I connect the centre and fronts of Onkyo all together to the centre channel? (This way I could use the existing FS for fronts). If I do so, does it improve the sound levels? Could it damage the AVR? Experts suggestions sought. I think it would look like a soundbar

It is better not to use the front speakers of Onkyo for center channel if you use your FS for fronts. For using the front speakers as center channel, I guess you will be connecting them in parallel which will reduce the effective impedance of the speaker system which can cause damage to the AVR due to increased current flow. If you use them in series, the resistance will increase and you won't get the required sound.

That means the onkyo fronts will be useless. Thats ok.
But my concern is the center might sound very weak along with the FS on the fronts. Any suggestion?
I am very particular on the performance of center speaker, which I am missing all these days.

I was traveling and just reached back today afternoon. I am little unwell so will try to set it up tomorrow. Will give reviews later for sure. :yahoo: Can't wait to get it up and running soon.

Good to know you've got your bill. Waiting for mine. Sent a message to Dhruv about the cable and bill he replied promptly saying that they typically do send it with the HT but since I did not get mine he will courier it with the bill.

Will write about my experience soon.

Was just browsing Amazon.com and read that Onkyo TX NR 609 is quoting for $ 380 while TX SR 608 is going for $ 550 !! Any clue whts happening?? Both are new pieces !

hey nothing to worry seller on ebay is authorized dealer of kanpur u.p and he will give you vat invoice with cst and vat no when you place an order and product will cover 1 year warranty. ok

just ask to Onkyo India that Mr Dhru from Kanpur is authorized onkyo dealer or not if you have any doubt regarding the dealership of the seller on Ebay.in .......

Is there any idea why the offer with 500gb hdd not working. I tried to book the same today but unfortunately none of the coupons is working with the emi option (Rs.24900/-). When i tried the diwali coupon it is giving me a discount of Rs.0.01 only

you need to talk to the ebay.in customer care and hope you will get your Diwali gift ok

so, you need to first use coupons - DIWALYBY01 ....and so on for subsuequent purchases..

After 26th Oct when promotion expires, till 10th nov, you can redeem it for your gifts.

hope this helps... this is different from earlier ebay promotions wherein one product bought -you could use to get only one gift based on value.

It may be some old stock, open box item or something. Are your trying to buy through shopyourworld.com? you can check actual prices from google - browse different websites for actual street prices - MRP will be lot higher.

that 0.01 coupon means its working because it does not give you instant discount, you have to redeem it after 27 Oct.
