Onkyo ht-s3400 pros & cons

Have you abandoned the idea of buying as a group buy from the Chitaranjan park dealer?

With Vijay Sales selling it for 20,000 we can aim for that.

Mr. Jha (same guy in loads of earlier conversations) is based out of CR park (If i understand it correctly). So, you can't expect any good deal from him. May be 500/1000 Rs. discount or HDMI cable.
So, better option is to buy online from ebay when some offer like HDD is available. Better wait till diwali - few more days and I am sure you will get some deal soon.

Though ebay dealer also has reduced prices and also included free EMI option - which is icing on cake. Vijay sales doesn't sell Onkyos in Delhi neither some of big dealers like reliance, Croma (or they have old models). If you are highly optimistic, you can wait.

He has also put Panasonic 42 Plasma @ 35 k guys.

I ordered HT-S3400 yesterday at TMC Hyderabad. Their price is 25000 with some coupon deals(scratch card, diwali and dassera lucky draw) or if you don't want any such offers then the price is 23500. I Paid 25000 and I got cooker worth 2999 for scratch card, not a bad deal isn't it? . waiting for the product from warehouse.

Congrats on the purchase. I am also waiting for my shipment from ebay dealer. I think you should have gone for 23500, as rice cooker may not be more than 1.5K (you can check on ebay). MRPs are always higher. I have never been lucky to get a car or LCD TV in scratch card, mostly it has been a duffle bag or something - so this scheme never excites me.

Yeh, Can't wait to play with this beauty. There is another deal on Onkyo 5205 on ebay for about 30K with active sub. You can check this - little outdated model - not sure of condition whether it is new.

You can't use active SW with Onkyo 3400 as it has no SW pre-out. But if you are satisfied with the bundled SW's performance, then you won't need an active sub.

one more thing i would like to know that is 3D logo with this model..............

Onkyo 3400 is 3D ready. What use with a 3D logo? Newer AVRs like denon xx12 are no longer using the 3D logo.

HDMI will passthrough both audio and video in onkyo 3400. You don't need separate cable for audio.
