Its a shame that vijay sales does not follow a uniform policy. Here in Delhi at their Pitampura branch they have no models of Onkyo. None at all. If only they were offering S3400 for 20,000 :clapping:

Hi guys.. Even I have bought Onkyo HT-S3400 from the same Kanpur dealer for Rs. 22800 (Rs 1200 voucher discount). Now I am bit worried about the warranty part. Hoping the purchase doesn't give trouble to me. Otherwise the sound is mind blowing/blasting to say the least.

If it applies to this dealer, same should apply to bigbazaar also who have listed Onkyo products on their website. :yahoo: If VAT is paid, and dealer is authorised dealer for Kanpur, you can always say that your uncle bought it from him and shipped to you. Onkyo has no right to refuse the warranty. This is just a threat from delhi dealers due to which they have put that caution on their website. I think they have margin of 6-7K on this product. If kanpur dealer is selling at 24K and shipping is about 1.5K and ebay listing amount - 1K, his selling cost is about 21.5K and even then his profits..I am sure Dealers in Delhi NCR are asking me for pay for their shop rentals

I have also got this voucher, Can share with you but nowadays all ebay vouchers are user specific. Max discount amount is 5K and value is 5%.

Thanks...I received the voucher details in one of the promotional emails sent from Ebay. It was valid till 30th Sept only. I would have opted for 500 GB HDD if I had not been in hurry.. Anyways I am still happy about the purchase...

Guys I tried calling the Onkyo helpline to verify warranty of my purchase. They are not giving the details and have asked me to contact the delhi sales head of onkyo Mr. Santosh Jha who is not picking up the call. I will again try later and confirm if warranty is covered or not.

I had purchased last week and asked Mr. Santosh Jha about the warranty , so he told that The Jewel Orchid is authorised dealer in Kanpur and purchases made from him are authentic. But he was a bit speculative about internet purchases.
At the end what i can conclude is that in the long run i would be covered under warranty its just the pressure of ncr dealers over him that.s why he saying all that.
Jimmzbond is right, they want us to pay for their shop rentals.

I jumped the gun and bought it from ebay - Dhruv, probably because ebay offer was valid only till today and then its navratra time also
If Onkyo doesn't honour it, I will make sure that I escalate it so that Mr. Jha and his bosses hear it loud and clear.
Btw, mks_sharma21 price has been dropped by Rs. 300 and with free EMI option, its a killer deal.
I bought it at 24K and without EMI yesterday. Now waiting for delivery details and to hear it loud at my place.
Hey Teez, now we are 2 who bought from him. I am not worried at all. At Rs.24K with 500GB HDD, net cost comes to Rs. 21.5K. and Same product costs USD 300 in US, so not a bad deal at all. I am not worried about Warranty part, As I know Onkyo can't dishonour it, even one disgruntled customer can damage their reputation big time. And I can do it on HiFI vision :yahoo:

I received it in 2 days post my payment. And i am quite sure about the warranty as Mr. Jha told that he has authorized dealer in kanpur in the same name of which i received the bill. So indirectly or directly spewking it was all a hoax of no warranty and unauthorized by Mr.jha just to be in good books of ncr dealers, at the end it looks all same and usual to me.
I saw that the dealer has already sold 7-8 pieces including mine so perhaps it must be genuine only.
What say???

Have you abandoned the idea of buying as a group buy from the Chitaranjan park dealer?
With Vijay Sales selling it for 20,000 we can aim for that.
